A same-game parlay is one bet that combines multiple outcomes from the same game. Every leg must win for the ticket to cash. Because the legs can be connected, the sportsbook prices the bet as one combined market instead of simply multiplying standard parlay odds.
For American odds, payout is:
profit = stake × (odds / 100) for positive odds.
Worked Example
In an NBA game, a same-game parlay includes:
- Lakers moneyline at
-110 - LeBron James over 24.5 points at
-110 - Game total over 221.5 at
-110
If the sportsbook prices the combined same-game parlay at +550, a $20 bet wins:
$20 × (550 / 100) = $110 profit
Total return is:
$20 stake + $110 profit = $130
All three legs must hit. If the Lakers win and LeBron scores 27, but the game total lands at 219, the full bet loses.
Why It Matters
Same-game parlays help a bettor express one connected game script in a single ticket, such as a team winning while its lead scorer goes over. The key is comparing the posted price to your own view of how often the full combination should hit.
