We pulled 30 spread lines from August 21 and August 16 — 28 lines from August 21 alone, 7 to 71 books each. Eighteen of the 28 August 21 lines show zero dispersion. Every book agrees on the number.

How this changes the PrizePicks math
The original guide assumed clean lines. Current data says some weeks are clean and some are not. This week is not clean on the NFL side.
When the parent game spread has six points of dispersion, the prop line is almost certainly shaded wider than the sharp number. You are paying extra vig — the book's cut — on every leg. A 5-pick Power play compounds that extra vig five times. A 2-pick Power play compounds it twice. The math has not changed. The inputs have.
One move to make today
Before you build your next entry, open the odds page. If any game spread ranges more than a point across sharp books, drop to a 2-pick Power play. That is it.
What the original guide still gets right
Flex Play pays less per leg cashed. Correlation still cuts both ways — stack on purpose or do not stack. Logging every entry is still the only way to know your real hit rate. The original beginner guide and the workshop remain the best tools for the job.
The only thing that shifted is the baseline assumption. The market is not uniformly clean. Some weeks it is. This week it is not. Adjust entry size accordingly.

Prop OVER hit rate vs line distance from median
Empirical hit rate of OVER bets as the prop line moves away from the player projection median, measured in standard deviations. A line set 1sd below the median hits ~84% of the time — but books price the juice to match.
Breakeven win % at common American odds
The win rate you need to break even at each price. Pick odds shorter than -150 and you must win >60% just to stay flat — a hurdle most casual handicappers never sustain.
