Eighteen college matchups. Six have two books that disagree. Five have two books that agree. Seven have only one book. Zero have a real market.
Why we do not bet placeholder lines
A line from one book is a press release. It becomes a price when other books post independent numbers and the market settles. Dispersion — the gap between the highest and lowest line across books — tells you whether the market has spoken. Zero dispersion means zero conversation.
Our pipeline requires three things before a line becomes a trigger price — the number we bet. First, two or more sharp books (Pinnacle, Circa, BetCRIS) on the same side within half a point. Second, ten or more total books posting so the consensus is broad. Third, dispersion under one point so the number is stable. Today zero games clear that bar.
What the picks page shows right now
Open the picks page and filter to NFL or NCAAF. Based on the current odds feed, every game shows book count of one, dispersion of zero, and "No Edge" in the action column. That is the honest read. The model has no disagreement with the market because there is no market to disagree with.
The track record page logs every pick we publish with the trigger price at publication, the closing line, and the CLV result — closing line value. No picks are hidden. Based on the current feed, there are none to log today.
What would change our mind
Two sharp books posting the same side within half a point on any game today. That would signal the market has formed and the number is real. We would then compare our model projection to that consensus, calculate the gap, and publish a pick if the edge clears our threshold. Until the market shows up, the honest answer is: no play.
Open the odds page at 10 AM ET. If any game shows 10+ books and gap under 1 point, bet it.
Bet responsibly — set limits, never chase losses.
Line movement vs public ticket %
Closing line movement (in points) plotted against the share of public tickets on the favored side. Reverse line moves — where the line moves opposite to public ticket flow — are the canonical sharp-action signal.
Model calibration: predicted vs observed
Predicted win probability bucket vs the empirical win rate inside that bucket on the test set. Points on the y=x reference line are perfectly calibrated; points below mean the model is overconfident in that bucket.
