Responsible Use Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
Sharksnip is a sports betting analytics platform. We provide tools, models, and information for users who choose to wager on sports. Wagering can become addictive. This policy describes the safeguards Sharksnip implements and the resources available to users who need help.
TL;DR — read this even if you're a "degen for life"
- We are not a sportsbook. We don't take your bets. Don't bet money you can't lose.
- Self-exclusion is one click in Settings. 24-hour cool-off on credit purchases over $500.
- Default monthly cap is $200 on platform spend. You can raise it after a 7-day cooling-off period.
- If betting stops being fun, call 1-800-GAMBLER or text 800GAM — confidential, free, 24/7.
- We will pull picks, ban accounts, and refund the last 30 days if you ask for help and we agree it's needed.
What we are not
- Sharksnip is not a sportsbook. We do not accept wagers, hold funds for wagering, or facilitate betting transactions.
- Sharksnip is not a financial advisor. Predictions and analyses are informational only.
- Sharksnip is not a guarantee of profitable betting. Past performance does not predict future results.
Our spending safeguards
Default soft caps
- Monthly credit purchase limit: $200
- Single transaction soft cap: $100
- Single-tier pack purchases: maximum $250 per pack
- 24-hour holding period on credit purchases over $500
Opt-in to "Power Tinkerer" mode
Users who genuinely need higher spending limits (professional bettors, high-volume DFS players, content creators) can opt in to Power Tinkerer mode. This requires:
- Account verification
- Acknowledgment of the responsible use policy
- A 7-day cooling-off period before activation
- Visible monthly spend tracker
Visible balance display
At all times, the dashboard shows:
- Current credit balance
- Total purchased this month
- Total earned this month
- Net spend this month
- Cap remaining
This is non-dismissible. We want spending to be visible at all times, not buried in a settings page.
Self-exclusion
Users can self-exclude from credit purchases or marketplace transactions for:
- 24 hours (cool-down)
- 30 days
- 90 days
- 1 year
- Permanent
Self-exclusion blocks all credit purchases during the period. Subscription billing continues unless separately canceled (sub doesn't enable wagering — it's tool access).
What we don't do
- We do not target marketing to users who have self-excluded
- We do not encourage users to spend more than they can afford
- We do not use dark patterns (false scarcity, manipulative urgency) in pricing
- We do not facilitate wagering by minors (account age verification required)
- We do not process transactions for users in jurisdictions where the underlying activity is prohibited
Pyramid league pack drops
Pyramid league cosmetic packs follow these rules:
- Maximum pack price: $199 (no $500+ "luxury" packs that triggered regulatory issues at competitors)
- Pack contents: documented pull rates published for any randomization
- No real-money value: pack contents cannot be redeemed for cash; trading restricted
- Optional purchase only — every pyramid league feature accessible via gameplay alone
Recognizing problem gambling
Problem gambling can take many forms. Warning signs include:
- Spending more than planned
- Borrowing or selling things to gamble
- Lying about gambling activity
- Feeling restless or irritable when not gambling
- Chasing losses with bigger bets
- Gambling affecting work, school, or relationships
If any of these apply to you or someone you know, help is available.

Self-exclusion programs
Most US states with legal sports betting offer self-exclusion programs that block you from sportsbooks across the state. These are entirely independent from Sharksnip's self-exclusion (which only affects Sharksnip purchases). Look up your state's program at the state gaming/lottery commission website.
Tools we recommend
- Sharksnip bet tracker — visibility into your actual sportsbook activity helps you stay aware of patterns
- Set hard caps in advance — most sportsbooks let you set deposit, time, or wager limits
- Schedule a regular review — once a month, look at your tracking honestly
- Talk to someone — a friend, family member, therapist, or helpline; isolation makes it worse
