So, I mean, last week, how we left it off, you mentioned that you were going to focus on building confidence and having more faith in yourself. Yes, sir. How did you go about doing that this week? Just kind of like what happened a little bit last week, just trusting all the work that I've been putting in, and indeed, I'm going to do my best. And I'm going to do my best to make sure that I can do it. Trust in all the work that I've been putting in, indeed, in pre-practice as far as the fundamentals and striking mechanics, especially with the independent handwork. And then just trust that my feet are gonna come along with me. So, I was able to do that this week, and I feel like my confidence definitely improved, especially in the one-on-one patchwork situations, for sure. Is there anything that you do personally to kind of instill that confidence? Do you have to remind yourself of things? Do you lean on any particular teammates to help you with that? I mean, Kel reminds me, and Dan, like I spoke on last week, my dad's always sent me motivational stuff, so just, you know, keeping me grounded, remember where I came from, and, you know, all the work I took to get here, and not letting it all be in vain, for sure. The independent hand striking that you talked about, how did that go for you, and what made you want to really fixate on that area of your game? Oh, I think it went fairly well, I would say, you know, it was the first true week of just harping on it, so to speak, and I wanted to add it to my game, just to try to eliminate the second move, you know, because the first strike is what's going to make the defender usually go to their second move, but that's going to either halt the first move or disrupt it, then they're going to work the second move. But the independent strike, although it's two different strikes, it's still one full strike with both hands, and you can get two moves eliminated with that, if you put it in the right placement, so it just makes them work their third move, and by then, hopefully the ball's out, QB's rolling around or something like that, just giving the QB as much time as possible. We spoke last week about the flight to London, seven hours each way. How did the flight go for you, and how did you spend the time? The flight went pretty good. It was my first time being on a flight that straightens out all the way, so I was pretty excited about that. Did you have to do anything differently, like get up and move around? Yeah, I got up probably every three hours and just walked around, I literally walked around, did a lap, if I had to go to the bathroom, I'd go to the bathroom. Then I finished the whole first season of Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV, it was really good, it was really good, yeah. So I finished the whole first season then, there's like nine episodes left for season two, so I think I'll be finishing that periodically. Did you find that on a whim or did someone recommend it to you? No, I found it on a whim, because I was going to watch Ted Lasso, but then I was like, I don't know if I want to laugh the whole plane, right? Like I want to find something that's like a little mystery to it, then it popped up, then I read the little description of season one and it has some good actors in it, so I enjoyed it. I know time was limited in London, but did you have a chance to explore, I know you mentioned the Big Ben was something that you wanted to see. No, we ended up staying in Weir, so we didn't even stay in London for real, so it was mostly just at the clubhouse. It was a nice place though, we were at a good location. They had a little car show for us, so it was a good decision. Older models up to a quarter million dollar car, million dollar cars, so it was good to see some cars. It was cool. First time out of the country? Yes, sir, first time out of the country. I know that's something that you were really excited about. Was it everything that you thought it would be? Just the travel part? The travel part, yeah, the travel part, yeah. The travel part, not necessarily the game, but the travel part. What did you think of Tottenham Stadium? It was awesome, it was big, actually. The fans, they were, it was packed out on the road. I was looking around, it was a good crowd, it was fun, it was awesome. It was good to see people that engaged outside the country with football. And seeing, even driving through the city, there were people with jerseys on, happy for the game and stuff. I didn't know they were in the football, I guess, that was pretty cool. Even on the broadcast, it seemed extremely loud. No, it was, it was very loud. Where would you place that? Why are you playing some really loud stadiums, including Lincoln? It was probably top 10 all time. It was probably top 10 all time. Oh, wow. Yeah, it was actually rocking. And they had a live performer, too, so it was really a concert during the breaks, and before the game, it was actual concerts. It was live. It's probably really different than anything. No, it was different, yeah. I was surprised, they had a little state set up for them and everything, so it was cool. You also said that you were gonna catch up with one of your high school buddies, Mikey, that you hadn't seen in five or six years. Yeah, I was able to see him. He sent a bunch of pictures to my mom, so yeah, it was good to see him. That was cool. So, you work on the scout team, right, during the week? So, I feel like many probably don't know what all that entails, and I know you, on Monday or Tuesday, talked to John that you have to watch film on the opposition. Can you kind of describe what all goes into it? Well, I guess to add on to what John said, you know, our coaches, they have the scouting reporter that they're essentially ready for, so they basically just relay the messages to us. So, for instance, some teams, whether they're silent cadence, it might be the left guard, it might be the right guard giving the cadence for the quarterback, because obviously we're at home, so they're going to have to go against that. So, we're getting our defense ready for what they're going to see. They're going to see the silent cadence. They're not going to come up and do the cadence, because our crowd is going to be in through, our crowd is going to be loud whenever the defense is on the field. There's also things such as they might not speak, they might have less verbal communication and more signage. So, if they're sliding to the right, it might be a center's hand point, or the tackle's staggered stance compared to a more square stance may tell you there's been a pass in the run. Just picking up on the tendencies and basically mimicking it for the defense so they can get used to it and whenever it's game time, they already know what the deal is and they're ready to go. So, do you start breaking down film on, in this case, the Carolina Panthers, Monday or Tuesday? Monday evening. Oh, okay, cool. So, you get to see Monroe Freling. Yes, sir. I know that he has an injury right now, but what's your scouting report on him having played with him in Georgia for as long as you did? That's my boy. I love Monroe. I love Monroe. I played beside him all last year. You know, we've been a great bond. I'm just looking forward to seeing him, happy to see him. Obviously, he's a very talented player, a hard worker, and I'm sure he'll bring his best, and we will, too, so. Just listening to Jordan over there talk about how he's really focusing on pouring into the young guys and, you know, trying to help. How has he helped you personally? Just instill confidence, pass along wisdom and things of that nature. Hey, football is heating up and everyone's pulling up because PrizePix has all your picks in one place. So I would say he like, like there's things I don't understand, he explains it for me, like in layman's term, like he explains it thoroughly for me. I mean, he just keeps, keeps me, he doesn't let me get overwhelmed with anything. Like he always makes sure I'm cool and calm and cracks jokes every now and then just to keep me loose. You know, he doesn't let me stress about anything. He just keeps explaining to me that it's going to come the time and you're doing good. He just keeps me confident and you know, ready to go throughout the week. We talked before about how committed this organization is to development and you have guys like Patrick McDowell and Connor Barwin. How have they really helped you now that you're entering week six? How have they really made an impact on you? They've helped me drastically. Sometimes whether it's just watching film or coming in on the off day and giving me stuff to do so I can have something to do on the off days when I come in on my own. Just extra work, just extra things that keep me up and up. Keep me progressing positively during my free time because obviously I'm not necessarily playing a lot of snaps on game day now. So just taking advantage of all the extra reps I can get and making the reps that I do get during practice even though they may be scout team making them valuable. Cousins are coming out to this game, I think you said, last week. What's the first spot or something that you're going to make sure that they check out while they're in town? I'm going to take them to Angelo's for sure. I've got to give them a full Tuesday for sure, so that's the first one. All right, did you ever get around to checking out any of those spots that we talked about? I have not. I didn't figure it. Yeah, no, I have not. It was a rough week, short week, last week, so I got to get to it, yeah. That's true. I'll get to it. How about, I know your Lego sets, you mentioned that you have the Iron Man one that you did already. You had the Spider Man one and you had the Star Wars one. I'm finishing up the Spider Man one now, so next time I see you, I'll have the Spider Man one. So I didn't see the, what was the horror movie that you recommended? The other mommy? The other mommy, yeah. But I did see the social reckoning, that was good. It was good? That was good. Okay. I'll watch that one next. Street Fighter comes out today. Yeah. Oh yeah. 50 Cent. Yeah. I might watch that today. Okay. I might go too. Yeah. There's a lot of theaters that are playing today. I'm sure the AMC has. I'll probably have to check that out. Okay. But how was Georgia and Auburn this week? So. Yeah. It sounds as old as robbery. So, like on Saturdays, do you tend to stay away from football? Do you focus or are you dialed in with what Georgia is doing? Oh, if we're out of a facility, I've got to cut the dogs on, man. I just sit on my recliner, lift it up and watch the dogs and cheer. Like I'm, I feel like an old head now. Just cheering for the dogs. But it's fine. And any fancer? I know Tank went to Auburn. He's injured right now. I don't know if you see him or talk to him. No. I mean, Georgia's been beating Auburn for so long now. I don't think there's anybody here that's beaten Georgia from Auburn. Well, you said the same thing about Texas last week. It's true. Wonder's win. Speaking of, how do you how do you feel Jake did in his first NFL start? I think Jake did amazing. Jake did awesome. He took care of business. You know, I mean, he had a huge, huge, huge role to come in. And just literally he had a week to get ready. And he went out there and did his thing. He executed. So I was very proud of him. Very, very impressed. And it's motivational because before last week, he's taken on my wrist with Jake. So I know the work and time that he's put in on and off the field to be ready for the opportunity. And he took advantage of it. So I'm very proud of him. I think what a lot of folks don't realize is it's first NFL start. It's in London and how loud it was there. Like, I mean, that's not easy. It was something real. That's not easy to do. Did you have to like, did you calm them down at all? Were you talking to them like before the game? Jake is a professional. He was good. He was good. He was good. He was good to go. So from a music standpoint, what's on your playlist these days? What are you listening to? Lil Wayne, still. Older Lil Wayne. I was going to say, Dedication. Yeah. You know about Dedication? I was listening to Dedication in 2008, 2009. Okay. Dedication, The Droughts, and then Lucky dropped the album called Drugs Are Bad, and then Wild Waves, a new album. I've been listening to that Choosing Texas song. That's a good song. Wait, they remixed it? Drake did. Oh, okay. Drake remixed him and Don Tarver, then Drake's album. Oh, it was in Drake, so yeah. All right. I'll have to check that one out. Yes, sir. I'm not too hip with the new stuff. It's the old stuff, the Carter II, the Drought, the Dedication. No, that's the real rap, in my opinion. So I see it. Yeah, that's good stuff. Yeah, absolutely. So lastly, what's just one or two things, either on or off the field, that you're working to achieve this week? Everything in life comes down to choice, doesn't it? Whether it's choosing the team you root for, who you listen to, or how you power your home, you deserve the freedom to choose your own adventure. And that goes for your power bill too. Right now across the US, Americans have the potential to harness limitless, clean, affordable energy. We could be powering our hospitals, our schools, our farms and so much more. In some places, this abundant local power is already helping lower utility bills and creating jobs. But depending on where you live, you may not have the option to choose limitless energy for your household. That has to change. We should all get to choose the energy we pay for. Cheaper, cleaner, limitless energy is out there. Let's find more ways to use it. Head over to energylimitless.com to learn more about your energy options.
