Giants-Saints Preview Week 6 | 224
This transcript does not include audio timing.
Welcome to Giants Nation, I'm your host, Bobby Skinner, here with my co-host, the Football Grump, and we've got a week 6 preview, the 3-1-1 Giants. It's going to really mess up the flow of talking about the Giants going forward. The 3-1-1 Giants host the 1-4 Saints at home, hopefully in good weather, revenge game for James Winston. And Grump, you texted me after I had wrote and or typed this little bit down. Since Starr went down, the Cardinals and Commanders were both teams that I did not view as good, but I had things and had things about them, though, that I thought made them very tough opponents that would be challenging for the New York Giants. And the reality is the Giants are playing with the backup quarterback. And every NFL team can beat another NFL team on any given Sunday. But I view this Saints game like I do the Titans. Just beat them. Like show who you are. Show that first place isn't a fluke. Just beat the Saints. I'm not saying this should be easy. Push over, walk in. They're so much better than them. But or they should blow them out. Just beat the Saints, right? Like the Saints are again, they're capable of winning. They beat the Ravens, a 4-1 team. But just beat the Saints this week, Grump. Absolutely, Bobby. That must have been like eight in the morning. I texted you. I did a bunch of my research for this game last night. And at the end of this, I was just like, this can't be that this is this easy. There's just no way that I can accept a loss after this game. So that's kind of when I texted you. And I'm on the same page. As usual, we're on the same page. But I'm excited to get into this because there's a lot of fun storylines in here, like Chase Young lining up across from Andrew Thomas and Andrew Thomas on a down year and Chase Young on a career year. So lots of fun stuff to get into with this one. Yeah. And again, like I don't say that to be like, oh man, I'm cocky in the Giants, right? This is going to be a grinded out type of year. But I am getting more and more confident, especially with what's going on with the Eagles. That was even before the Jalen Hurts News that came out on Thursday. The Cowboys looking like a mess, the commanders not being very good. Now I'm actually really in on this team being a playoff team. But for them to be a playoff team, I feel like they've got to win a game like this game. So just figure out a way to do it. I'm not predicting it's going to be super pretty and easy, and they're going to come and physically overwhelm them. But they should be the better team on Sunday at 1 o'clock against the New Orleans Saints. So we're going to get into this preview first. This episode is brought to you by a few special people. We got RBS, III, and then we have Raymond B. Smaltz III. I'm pretty sure Raymond just signed up twice. That makes him a super patron. Which I can understand if he did the 999 tier twice. He was like, hey, I want to do double. But he could have just done the 6-dollar tier once. Or maybe he had like a son that he's taken care of. And he's like, here's your log in or whatever. So in other words, Raymond is a great guy. And then Matthew D. Domenico. He's actually not from the Dominican. And I don't think that's even a Dominican name. Grump, who are these non-Dominicans? Well, these special people went to patreon.com/giantsnation, signed up for one of the two tiers available or signed up twice for the same tier. Who knows? They received free stickers in the mail from Bobby Skinner to paint their town with. They also get entered into a monthly free t-shirt raffle, also giving away a copy of Jordan Runon's book this year as well. They get access to hang out during live recordings of episodes just like this one. So the Patreon chat is in the chat right now while we're recording this. They get to hear this live. They don't have to listen to it tomorrow. They also get access to Bobby's weekly all 22 game tape breakdown. This is the meat and tomatoes, as Bobby says, of the GNS universe. Is all the access to all of the breakdowns right there. So you'll be glad you did. You know what's the problem with Ricky-isms when you do them? Is that people don't realize the Ricky-isms, they just think you're dumb. Yeah, it's true. Whenever I do that, people just get like, man. You think of like the people that comment like, hey, that's not the phrase. The 90% of people just silently just think in their head, what an idiot. Most of them aren't commenting, like correcting you. Most of them are just silent like, what an idiot. Like, good thing these guys are good at football talk because they would be struggling in the real world. I don't think it takes rocket appliances to know when you're joking, Bobby. Listen, hey, whatever listeners us, this issue we have right now, it's water under the fridge. All right, let's get into it. That one actually makes sense. You think about it, you kick ice under the fridge, you don't think about it anymore. Water under the fridge. All right, let's get into this. The Saints Offense versus the Giants Defense. Usually, we start with the Giants Offense first, but I want to talk about the Saints Offense because they do have a lot of yards. They're 16th in points per game this year, 20th in points per drive, 17th in EPA per play. They're good at converting, 7th on third down, 4th in the red zone. It starts with Tyler Shough. They're 11th in passing yards per game, 21st in net yards per attempt, but they are second in passing at times per game. Tyler Shough is throwing the ball 41 times per game, second highest in the NFL. Part of that is from playing from behind, but I do think part of that is the way that they also are built. He has nine touchdowns, five interceptions. Shough is able to diagnose a zone coverage well and rip it. He has a lot of trust in his two outside wide receivers, Chris Olave being second in the NFL in receiving. We'll get to that. Even Donovan Vele, he'll give him some opportunities. I think the issue, though, is that when the picture has changed and there's confusion and teams have started to blitz and get aggressive on him and quicken up the clock, that's where the Saints offense finds issues. And I think the Giants are going to play into that. Oh, absolutely. The Giants have been really good. About a third of the time disguising their coverages through five weeks, which I think is the right amount, right? Because you can't disguise your coverage 100 percent of the time, then they know it's just certainly not whatever you're presenting at the beginning. So I think a third of the time is the right sweet spot. Tyler Shough has also really struggled with pressure as well. I think for the long term, I think there's a lot to like about Tyler Shough. Saints fans, I think their hearts are in the right place being excited about the long term future of Tyler Shough. But right now, in the early years, because remember, we did a little bit of draft prep on him. For seven years of college, which is a number that gets thrown around a lot when people talk about him, he doesn't have a ton of college experience. In six of those seven years, he will have thrown less attempts than he will definitely throw this year. We did a lot of work on him, but I feel like he's living up to what you saw where he can diagnose, like I said, a coverage and rip it. He's got no fear at times. Then like I mentioned, under pressure, there's just these panic bad decisions. He's not very mobile, but he can use his legs. He's very much scrambled to throw. He's really never running. I know he had a 40 yarder against the Lions, but outside that, he's basically been nothing as a rusher. I know the Giants have become like the third highest blitz rate team in the NFL behind the Vikings and the Commanders. He becomes like into the double clutch king. I don't know if you noticed that in the last two games of film. I mean, it felt like every third play, he was just clutch, clutch, clutch. Maybe he'd throw it and that would lead to some bad decisions. A lot of times, he would scramble out of that, again, he does do a pretty good job of doing that, of scramble out the back of the pocket, up through it if that's available to him. But as the game unravels, it just turns into bad throws and second guessing himself, and that leads to sacks. That's just become like an issue to him and he just defaults, and I think rightfully so to, let me throw to Chris Olavi, let me throw outside the numbers, that's where it's going to be simplified. You know, 50% of Shuggs' throws are to outside the numbers, you know, highest rate in the NFL. Chris Olavi is the real deal though, like I've always loved Chris Olavi, and I think Shugg is showing how good of a player he is. Again, he's second in the NFL in receiving yards, 72% catch rate. He's just very smooth, changes direction, it could stop, he releases well, he sets up leverage, like he's always in the right place. You know, against these blitz looks, he'll set up those deep curls. Chris Olave is the key to the Saints Offense. And I think what's going to be a struggle for the Saints going forward, and the Giants should look to do this, you should look to stop him. Right? A lot of times, I think teams can wrongfully like, hey, let's stop their top guy and put such an emphasis on that, that it makes everything else easy. I think the Giants can send the blitz and just focus on Chris Olave. Like have someone underneath and over the top of Chris Olave, make him second guess that he's looking that way. Maybe that turns into an interception throwing to Olave, which there has been. Maybe that turns into a sack, or maybe that turns into a linebacker jumping a pass for an interception. That's happened this year, week one against the Detroit Lions. I really would focus on Chris Olave, Walt sending some of my pressure looks and disguise coverages. Like everything would be based around... Everything would, for the most part, would be based around stopping Chris Olave. Oh, I agree with you. I would actually probably try to disguise my look looking... I would try to do my best to show Tyler Shough like he's got some kind of matchup with Chris Olave pre-snap and rotate into something where he's in double coverage, because he does default to throw into a Lave under pressure. And listen, Shough has been kind of a turnover machine this year. He's got nine touchdowns. He's got 10 turnovers between five interceptions and five fumbles, and he's been sacked 13 times. He's really struggled under pressure, and he hasn't really, despite all the throwing yards, whatever, he hasn't really performed well under pressure this year. So I would absolutely go after him. The Vikings terrorized him last week. The Falcons terrorized him. He just doesn't do well under pressure. His offensive line in front of him, he's missing his left tackle in Kelvin Banks, and his right tackle, Talisi Fuagga, has not been good. Has not been good at all. He's given up four sacks in five games and 21 pressures. So, I mean, absolutely bring the house to Tyler Shough, make him make decisions quickly. Yeah, absolutely. And you mentioned, you know, he's five interceptions, and the Giants have six interceptions this year, which is the third highest in the NFL. And I went and watched all of those because we were talking with the Listeners' Pre-Show. The nice thing about preview pods in the beginning, the first four games of the season, is you get to watch every single game of film. That's just no longer the case. So it's like I watched two most recent or find matchups and then, you know, look at key play. So I went and watched all the interceptions. Number one, first one was either just inaccurate or he's expecting no offense to sit down. I don't think that's a big, repeatable thing. Number two, stream, slow, like looking for his first read, slow process and coming back to the middle of the field and then pulling it, lying back or jumps it. Number three, panic getting hit, forced to a bad hole shot throw up and just terrible, terrible interception. Number four, a cover zero look. They rotated to an inverted cover two. He rolls it out and just fires it right to Byron Murphy. I don't know what was going on that. And then number five one was, it was the end of the game, so a little understandable. But again, verse a cover zero, he just knows where the pressure is coming from. So he slides to the right. He runs to the right. And then throws a go ball to the left, but the corner is just on top of it. He just basically throws it to the corner, throwing it up to a lot of it. So again, not all of those are repeatable, but if you get into an end of game situation and it's third down, you know what, you know, make a mistake. So I think the Giants are going to blitz a lot because the blitz looks work against them. You don't need to have this crazy stuff. You can take advantage of their tendencies of running full slide protections and stuff. But with that, I'm dual-corridor, miss Wednesday and Thursday on practice. By the way, Shug has been blitzed at the second highest rate of the NFL, in the middle of the road, sacrilegious, bottom eight in pressure, top eight in most pressure. Man, for missing Carter, that really stinks, because he's been really heating up, and this has been a fun matchup for him. Yeah, I wonder. He kind of showed up with a calf injury. I expected him to come off the injury report by today, and he hasn't. I guess I can hold out hope that he will, but if he doesn't, I guess we're going to see a lot of Trace Ford. I don't know, actually. If he doesn't, I think that we'll see a lot more Kayvon Thibodeau on the outside, maybe Jahad Ward on the outside. I'm not really sure what they do on the inside, but that does open up a question about the Saints' run game, if you want to pivot to that, if you want to start talking about their run game woes and where that might actually bang us around. I want to talk about Carter, and Harbaugh said this. This was on Wednesday. Again, he did not practice on Thursday. We didn't see Abdul Carter out there. How's he doing? He's doing well, doing very well. Is he injury or he'll be on the injury report. His status will come out at four, and that was the most that he answered on that. So again, with Harbaugh, that couldn't mean he's out for a month, or we'll see him. Well, we should know by Friday if Abdul Carter's gonna play, so I don't want to focus on that too much, but the reality is, I think you're losing your best player on defense if you're losing him. And the Giants, with the hits they've taken, I don't want to keep losing guys like this, because he can eat this game, especially if the Giants are going to blitz, they're going to create one-on-ones. It's a bad tackle match, a bad tackles for both those guys. But players got to step up. I know Cave-On actually on film had a little bit of a better week, where he did some good things. It wasn't just the horrible, I mentioned the taking the flat route away on that last play of the game. That's cool and all, but that's not what we're asking Cave-On to do. But he needs to step up and do more besides what he's doing. But again, I think the blitz looks will work. I think with Shug, the Giants defense has played as good. Because even when they get into their more basic zone coverages, the Giants pattern matching turns stuff in the man coverage. So that's where you're not getting it. You're really never getting a basic zone coverage from a Denard Wilson defense. Because the ones that end up basic are rotated and disguised where it's just basic playing a zone. The basic, quote-unquote basics, like if your outside receiver breaks in, the outside corner is going to turn that in man coverage and run with them. So I think it's a really good match up against Shug. Not to say though, just stop him and hold him to 130 yards, but you just get advantage of him. But Giants with Arville Reese, they're going to want to check it down a little bit. Arville Reese has been so good at that, kind of takes away Alvin Kamara who hasn't been making guys miss. But you mentioned they're rushing offense. What do you have on that? I mean, they're near the bottom of the league. They're averaging less than 90 yards per game. They're actually doing worse than the Giants. They do run, most of their stuff is out of 11 personnel. I think close to 65% of all plays are out of 11 personnel. So that includes the run game as well. I forget how to pronounce his name now. For a million years, it was Travis Etienne. It's Travis Etienne. You got three years before you can tell us your name is different. Yeah. Okay. All right. Then Travis Etienne out for the year. That's going to put us towards Alvin Camaro, who's on the back end of his career. He doesn't have quite the same juice he used to. The only thing that they're really doing well in terms of the run game is, I think their three interior blockers are good. Yeah. Those guys are good. That's where we've got a little bit of Coughing Baby versus Coughing Baby in this. The Giants are bad against the run this year. There's been this narrative that they're not. Because it's not as bad as last year, but the Giants are 25th in defense, EPA per rush, 31st in rushing success rate, 29th in explosive run rate allowed, 27th in design yards per carry, 26th in stuff rate. I think just because of the lack of quarterbacks, scrambling quarterbacks, Jaden Daniels had 100 plus, and I don't view that as run defense, but that does help the totals on some stuff. But they've played Dak, Stafford, Cam Ward, and Jacoby Brissette. Now we get Tyler Shough. I mean, we're just not playing quarterbacks there, adding rushing yards to the totals. The reality of those, DJ Reader has been very good. Shelby Harris has been good and bad, and the linebackers have in the run game have been up and down, right? Those guys have made plays that are there for them. They've also been times where guys are just running right past them, because the defensive line doesn't do a good job of helping them out. Then the safeties have been Tyler Nubin. We talk about, they don't have any explosive runs. I think they're dead last in explosive run rate. Let me see. Do I have that number here? Oh, they might be. No, they're dead last in explosive run rate. Well, guess who's second to last in explosive run rate? The Arizona Cardinals. They just started popping them off one after another. They are a zone running team, though. They run the most zone runs in the NFL, but that hurts the Giants because that does make Darius Alexander and these guys have to be a little better. It's the interior guys against their interior guys. That's where they're strong. DJ Reader, again, good. But outside of that, that's where the Giants can get in trouble. Again, it's coughing baby versus coughing baby. So I'm not sitting here saying, oh man, this fearful Saints run game, but I wonder if they'll be able to find some success. But they also just don't run the ball either. Maybe if they get a lead, they'll see a little bit more of that. Then another note I have, they have a tell. Anytime Oscar Delp is on the field, they're running. Fifty-eight percent of the time that he's in, they are running the ball or they're play actioning off, which they don't play action very much. So it's like they don't like to run the ball, they don't play action. But when Oscar Delp is in, they do both. So just look for Oscar Delp. It's like, play the run, but also I guess watch the play action a little bit too. Oscar Delp is just in there. Oscar Delp also reminds me, it's a disgrace, the New Jersey number rule, that this dude can just come in, be a four-string tight end and get the win number four. So again, running game, find success this week. Like you know what, that's the reality of it. If you're an improved run defense, find success this week. I'm just gonna add one last thing on the offense. Although offense mainly, but I guess it applies to the entire New Orleans Saints, they're in a bad way right now at one and four. Their owner just publicly called out everybody. So we're gonna go through, what we just went through is all the tendencies up until now, it could change. This could be the game where it changes because I'm sure that Kellen Moore looks at this game that there's a chance that they can win. This could be a get right game and this is possibly the game where you just start doing things that you haven't been doing. So play actions, screens, that sort of stuff that they have not been doing, or even just running the ball enough for play action to start to work. These are all things that could change in this game. So Giants have to be ready to pivot for that. And I'll be interested, I agree, where their owner publicly called them out, like there's gotta be some urgency to do things differently. And one of those things, like what do we say to a part of interim coach disease? What do they do in their first game? Run the rock, we're gonna be physical. It's like, I can see this team coming out and running the ball. And I wonder if they see what the Cardinals did, where the Giants were expecting one thing, the Cardinals all of a sudden get out of what they usually do and find success. Could they do that? Oh, absolutely. I think that they're gonna probably try and exploit anything that they can. Like I said, being called out by the owner. And Kelvin Moore is only in, what, his second year as head coach? Yeah. Yeah, he's in his second year as head coach in the GMs. And like, I think he's the longest tenured. Is Mickey Lewis the longest tenured GM in the NFL? Not counting the Cowboys? Maybe. Yeah, that's the only one. You know what? Why don't you talk to us about GLD and I'll look it up. Yeah, go ahead. All right. So and there is nothing quite like football season and showing off your team, but you can't wear a jersey every single day. And that's where GLD comes in. And he put all those contracts like into the future. I thought he was going to get like canned when all those. Imagine him getting fired mid-season. Wait, like, wait, you had the most patience in the world and then you fired me mid-season. Which here's the thing, they probably won't fire Mickey Loomis. They'll just fire another head coach because that's always the issue. That's the issue. All right, let's talk about the Giants offense here. You know, and their defense is 31st in scoring, their 28th knee-paper play, their 31st in points per drive. This is a flat out bad defense. And the reality is, I mean, think to yourself, list the names of the Saints defense. Yeah, it's tough. Yeah, it's like we can do it. Like, you guys are all ball knowers, you guys are all football fans. But do any of them inspire any confidence in you? Like, who's their best player on defense? Are you really asking me? Who do you think is their best player on defense? I mean, if I were the Giants asking for one of their defenders, I'd probably go after Carl Granderson, but he's not really statistically their best edge rusher. Chase Young has been better than him this year. Kool-Aid, McKinstry has even struggled. So, they're in a bad spot. So, we'll start with the Giants passing offense. I found this stat the other night. Do you know the Giants, did I hit this on the mail bag? The Giants have three passing touchdowns in three of five games. I don't think so. Well, the last time they did that in a season was 2019 when Daniel Jones had five against the commanders and then four against the Jets and Lions. And the last time they had more than three games of such was 2016. So, and then two games where they didn't score any touchdowns. But anyways, for the passing offense, they are 25th in EPA per pass, 30th in success rate, and 11th in passing yards because we'll run the ball a good amount on them and find success on that. They are primarily a zone defense, 78% of the time, 55% cover three. It's actually the most in the NFL. They are a soft zone team. This is Brandon Staley as defensive coordinator. And I don't know what it is. I mean, they don't disguise. It's a fairly simple defense. And when you have a quarterback like James Winston, I think you should have fine success, right? Like if I had Tyler Shough in my quarterback, this would be the defense I'd be looking to play. Because like you're going to diagnose and you're going to find the right thing all the time. Like it's like the second level, you can run these three level reads and the second level will be open because they just play like, we got to play deep, play shallow, play deep, play shallow. And they don't have that middle guy there to be in match coverage or whatever. They also will play soft zone. So you get those curl routes, those easy stuff. Free access, they're really never pressing you up. And I think it shows up in their third down conversion rate. They're 29th in the NFL. Just the lack of disguise allows you to find your match up and go. Or set up your match. I want to see some cool stuff from the Giants this week because I think it should be, this is a game where it's like, Jamus should have his best game this week. I'm not saying he's going to, but he should have his best game this week. It's weird to be saying this in a preview pod with a backup quarterback no less, but the Giants can do whatever they want in this game, I feel like. The Saints aren't good against the run. They're not good against the pass. I wonder, I'm a little surprised that a Brandon Staley defense is so straightforward and I've wondered if it's just because the secondary is incredibly young. I mean, Cooley McKinstry is in his third year, Quincy Riley is in his second year, Jonas Sankers in his second year. Maybe that's it. The secondary only has one interception. I think that's second to last in the league, behind only the Cowboys was zero, if my numbers are right. So I mean, the Saints are kind of bad at everything on defense. It is a ton of cover three, which is odd, but again, the seams are there. It's kind of like the old passing playbook that they had last week. They can freely do again, and the Saints aren't good against the run either. They've given up the second most rushing yards in the league. It's 744. They're averaging 4.9 yards per carry against. 10 rushing touchdowns is the most in the NFL as well. The only thing that they're good at on defense is forcing fumbles. Seven forced fumbles is tied for third highest in the NFL. Yeah, which hey. I mean, we're bad at that. Do not fumble, like don't fumble. Please don't make us come out of this game like, well, we lost because we fumbled three times. You know, and hey, last year Saints game. Last year Saints game was if the Giants had a tough schedule last year and that wasn't just Giants hands. I would like the rest of the league acknowledge it was a very tough schedule. We all circled one game and it was week five against the Saints and then they came in and they had five straight turnovers in that game. So again, this is where you're talking about. It is, you can't overlook any opponent, but you need to go out there. I think you could do some cool stuff where you stack, like if you put three to one side, you send, you got two by two or whatever or three by two. But if you have, they'll pull the zone to the three and then you could just stack neighbors and likely and hit one of them on a slant and they'll be there, right? Cause they're like, we gotta play the deep and the flat. And that's, so they'll leave that inside part open. You know, so like you could find success doing some stuff like that. Like I think neighbors and likely should be like, the offense should kind of run through them passing wise. And we'll talk about the run game cause the Giants should have some rushing success. But I do, I do want to push back on that a little bit because some of the opponents they've played. But like neighbors and likely like those guys should both be, the question should be who gets the most catches and yours out of the two, not who has like a good match up in this game. I think the question is actually who becomes the three at that point, because neighbors and likely they were starting to eat, they were starting to trade off drives last week where it was like one drive, neighbors took over, they did everything they could on defensive to take away neighbors and then likely was just free. And I think at a certain point, it's the Darnell Mooney connection has been off just a little bit with Jameis Winston for a couple of weeks. Now, maybe that'll connect Theo Johnson has been slow to join, but maybe that's Malachi Fields is slowly growing into his role. I'm really genuinely curious who becomes that guy who comes in third in reset. I think it's going to be Theo Johnson. Like you saw last week, he got his most. He was double the amount of passing snaps that he was on. And I know the Giants like a lot of people like, oh, well, the Giants actually run more 11. Like Isaiah likely is a slot wide receiver. It's like, well, they don't use him like a slot receiver most of the time. They use him in big, heavy personnel, center of stuff, and he'll be the second guy. And then they'll run 11 personnel, and then he'll be the only tight end. So it's like, you can't say that though he's a slot like, that's 11 personnel. That's 11 personnel with a lighter tight end. And they were, last week was the first week where they really just did likely as a slot, where they ran 12 out of gun and they had Theo Johnson's tight end, likely as the slot. It was the first time they did it. And I'd be interested to see some more of that with Mooney over Malachi Fields. And this could be a little bit more of a, hey, let's see the film and what happens this week. And we can have a little bigger conversation in Malachi Fields. I am at a little point where I'm a little disappointed with Malachi Fields because with a quarterback like Jamies, you gotta win your leverage, you gotta be right place, right time. And he's just not so. Like, and even that big Malik neighbors play in overtime, that was a dagger route for Malachi Fields. And he releases outside and he can't break inside. It's like, man, if they just cover the clear out well, you've totally ruined this play because you don't release to the inside on what should be a win. And, you know, Jamies have an interception against the Cardinals on a very similar thing. Like, I do wonder if they try and do a little more like, let's put Mooney on the outside. It's likely in the slot, Theo Johnson at tight end. But if you ask me and not to give on my fancy big board away, but once it became like, all right, neighbors likely, and then who's like that third receiving threat of my big board, I didn't know where to go with that, you know? I would probably go Mooney, but I think Theo Johnson is a good bet to be a third option in this offense. Yeah, I agree with you. I think Darno Mooney gives them a certain ability with speed, right? Where he can really stretch defenses deep, where even if he's not part of the progression, he's going to pull a safety deep or a corner deep and open up something underneath. Theo Johnson gives him something I think is probably more valuable right now in this moment, in that when he lines up in line, he truly is a double, he can block pretty well, or he can release and be a pretty decent receiver, and defenses have to account for both. And I think that that helps out the run game, whereas Darno Mooney might help out some of the underneath passing game. I think right now, the Giants are focused on anything that will help out the run game. So yeah, I think it's going to be Theo Johnson for now, but there is a concerted effort to try, like they are really trying to get Darno Mooney involved. It just, the connection with Jameis has been, it was way off when Jameis first came in, and now it's like just off the fingertips off with Darno Mooney. So it's slowly getting there. But I don't know how Mooney would be, again, I think it's tough to project in this game, because they play so much zone covers, so you're not going to get like, oh man, he gets man coverage on these crossers. But they do have some times where they will really play the shallow level of the field, and those crossers are wide open for big chunk lay, so maybe he can be used in that role as well too. Pass press wise for them, they're 28th in pressure rate, they blitz at the six highest rate, but they're very basic blitzes. I don't know if you had the same takeaway on film, where none of their blitzes like, oh man, this is really testing the way we sort out protection. Chase Young has been good, they have eighth in sacks, Chase Young is eighth in sacks with four. Outside of that, no one's really been doing anything. I do want to talk about Carl Grandison versus Marcus Mbow in a second, but I didn't find anything about their blitz packages that was challenging. Not at all, they look prehistoric compared to what we've seen from Donard Wilson the last two weeks, and then I watched the Vikings game and the Falcons game against them, and they look prehistoric even by comparison. A lot of times, they bring just four guys, and sometimes they bring five, like they'll bring like a linebacker and drop an edge rusher or something, and it's still four. It's really not that dynamic. It doesn't really... The most surprising thing is that they're bringing more than four guys. As soon as you sort that out, it's really not difficult to see what they're doing behind it or what they've done to mitigate bringing an extra rusher. It's very basic. There are rushing offense versus there are rushing defense. There are 30th in defensive rushing yards per game, 26th in yards per carry. They're last in EPA per run, last in success rate. This isn't my... Actually, they have a good run defense, but I do want to add some context to that. They held Derrick Henry to 68 yards with Justice Hill having six. They held Aston Genty to 56 yards on 2.9 yards per carry. Now Mike Washington, our guy out of Arkansas, had 54 on five runs, so some explosives. And then Bijon Gibbs had 150, or Bijon Gibbs, Jim Mahir Gibbs, had 156 on 29 carries. And then Bijon went off 145 yards, 7.6 yards per carry. And then Bryan Robinson added 62 yards on 14 carries. Those are two really good rushing office that exposes. What I think should give hope though is the fact that Aaron Jones had 113 yards on 25 carries because the Vikings run offense hasn't been very good. But I do think this is the least challenging run game for the Saints this year. And it's again, it's besides the Falcons. It's not these super explosive runs. It is very much like, hey, you just get your yards against them. Nobody's getting off blocks for them. Like, it's kind of as simple as that. There's not an individual like, oh, man, they're they're out of gaps. They, you know, they're undisciplined or there's this one guy that back up. It's just, nobody is winning individual blocks for them, which consistently allows you to get four or five yards. Yeah, and it looks like it's like right up the middle, too. It doesn't look like it's all that. Yeah, it doesn't have to be that complicated. That's what I'm saying. Like, this is sort of what the Giants have been trying to establish since they got here is the ability to just like line up and just run forward, you know, and doing whatever you can to make that happen. So the Giants go into this game, they can really, like I said, just pick whatever it is they want to focus on. And I think as long as they focus hard enough on one or two things, the game will just open up for them, because the Saints aren't particularly good at anything on defense. Yeah, absolutely. So. You wanted to talk about Carl Granderson having to go against possibly most likely Marcus Mbow in Germana Luminous. Let me say this, because right now Marcus Mbow is renting the right tackle spot. And if you own a rental property, you already know the drill. Chasing rent, fielding maintenance calls, shuffling through paperwork, all on top of everything else in your day. Well, guess what? Lease DIY gives you one simple app to handle it all. Collect rent automatically, manage your leases, track maintenance requests, and keep your whole portfolio in one place. No property manager needed, which allows you to be a better landlord. Reality is like, the reality is this isn't, you know, I don't think this is going to go out to, you know, whatever, name the biggest like land owner in the world. I think this is for people kind of running small businesses. But this is great for tenants as well. Use the app for a simple ACH payments either one at a time or as an automatic debit so you can never have to awkwardly meet up in a driveway again. Submit your maintenance request with images of the problem right in the app so it's all documented. Take back your time, visit leasediy.com and get started today. Leased DIY property management, the powers are. I actually might have to get my landlord who views me as, he loves me because I'm a good renter and I love Dino as well too. But anytime, if I don't answer his calls on the first of the month, the voicemail is like, are you alive? You usually answer the phone. Are you everything okay over there? So maybe I'll get Dino on Leased DIY. But here's the thing is I want to see Dino. So maybe I'll get him on Leased DIY for the other neighbors. He doesn't love them as much as he loves me, but I love you, Dino. All right, leasediy.com. So Marcus Mbow, I think this is a good, what are you week? It's year two, you've got the focus. They have not actually the cross-trained at all, except for one random day in OTAs to tease us. At any other position, you have been only a tackle. You're now getting to, we've talked about it before. I still, I don't know if he's going to be a tackle, but if he is, it's a right tackle, right? He's not a left tackle in the NFL. He didn't play left tackle at all in college. He played more guard than he did left tackle. He didn't play any left tackle. What Carl Granderson is at this point of his career should be a good test of what Marcus Mbow is. Because again, he's not great, he's not terrible, he's not having a very good year. Handle yourself, not be perfect, but handle yourself. I don't want this to be a game where it's all, he gives a free quarterback hits and two pressers, but because he doesn't give him a sack, we're over blowing it. And you know what, this is year two. Rookie shine wears off of you. If you play, and I think this is a big moment for Marcus Mbow as well too. If he plays badly and say Jermaine Illumina is missing next week, which I think is a real possibility, JC. Davis may take that role. That's the reality. So I think this is a big week for Marcus Mbow. It's not going to be talked about as much. I do think he might actually help a little bit in the run game. But this is a huge week for him. This sounds like a giant factor, but it's not. So if you guys want to use him, you guys can. And if he is, I won't ask you to just say no comment on any of this. But this is a huge moment for Marcus Mbow. Yeah. He performed admirably in Jermaine Illumina's place last week coming in. I thought he looked pretty good. And if you were just watching the broadcast to just enjoy the game, we live streamed it. So in those moments, I'm like, whatever. I kind of forgot that Jermaine left the game. So that's the highest compliment a backup can get, especially a tackle. So I think Carl Granderson is a good challenge for him because he's fast, he's long, he has good bend. And he's not amazing, but he's been pretty steady goods. He's usually somewhere around six sacks per year for the last couple of years now. So definitely not a scrub, but also not somebody that poses a challenge that we'd be giving him flowers and sending him to the Pro Bowl for shutting him down. Bowe got very lucky. And again, Bowe's numbers weren't very good. We talked about it on player profile, won't go too much. But his numbers weren't very good, but they weren't like, oh, he gave up seven sacks. Like he didn't give a bunch of sacks, but he had great matchups, right? He got very lucky in the games that he played. He never really had a tough defensive end matchup. But I'm not saying, oh, well, we got to see him against Nick Bowe, so let's see if he's good or not. I think this is a good barometer for what Marcus Bowe is, going up against Carl Granderson. And Chase Young is probably going to go up mostly against Andrew Thomas, and it's going to drive me nuts that this is Thomas at his worst. And Chase Young has already sort of rushed with a little more power, which I think has helped him, and that's where Andrew Thomas has been hurt in this groin injury. So what I don't want is a Thanksgiving, Andrew Thomas is sick to death, and Michael Parsons makes a couple of plays type of thing, and then every other game of their careers, Andrew Thomas shuts his little bitch ass down. But we won the Chase Young Bowl, never forget. Hey, I cited that three touchdowns stat earlier. Thank God, thank God, because we would have the team gotten rid of Chase Young, bum ass. That's true. Yeah, I think that's one of the more fun storylines going into this, is that I remember exactly where I was for the Chase Young Bowl, that Giants fans were livid about winning that game. I was so happy, dude. I was like, my quarterback just dick down the commanders. Landon Collins, who was running his mouth so much, just got Cata Smith, just shit. I know we're getting a little crazy with our, went from cool calm collected analysis to just shit talking. But that game was so much fun. People were telling me that not be happy. I was like, screw you. My rookie quarterback just went five touchdowns, overtime game winner. That was so much fun. Yeah, it was awesome. Then as a consolation prize finding out we wouldn't get Chase Young was really annoying. Then just to find out that Washington wasn't able to get anything out of Chase Young and Andrew Thomas turned out to be the best player we've drafted in forever. Now coming into this game where Andrew Thomas has really been playing down and Chase Young has quietly been putting together a really, really good start to the season. This is a fun storyline. I'm interested to see how it goes. We have to tilt the tables a little bit or else Andrew Thomas will just absolutely shut this down. So we have to make it a little bit interesting beforehand. I want to see something here. He goes, who did the commanders get in the trade for Chase Young? I don't even remember. For a third, Luke McCaffrey. Oof. Oof. That's brutal, man. Senior Bowl guy. Never forget. Yeah. There's been a few of them these past couple of years, whereas we're doing our draft stream, we're like, wait, third round? He was definitely on that list for us. Oh yeah. I thought he was a fun six-rounder. If his name was Luke. It's like last draft where it's like, all right, now the blocking tie-down seems a little left up. I don't know what's going on here. Who was the Michigan one, Mason Klein? Who did he get drafted? I think it was the Bears. I don't remember. Maybe. Crazy. It makes sense now when you see how much 13 personnel is going on around the league. Well, we're way off the rails now. It's crazy. It's crazy. Anyways, let's take a break and then bring on Kyle for weather. We now welcome on Kyle for weather and trivia. Kyle, good weather this week. Can I say something? Giants, pretty good under bad weather. Should we be rooting for good weather? I'm not so sure, but I think the fans would probably want to be dry for a game and I won't blame them. I have some good news for the first time in, I don't know, since California, I guess. You're leaving the show. Sorry. This will be the first taste of some good fall weather. It will be nice and crisp. It's supposed to be sunny all day, around 50 to 60 degrees and calm winds. You can not ask for a better day for football in fall. Football and weather. It really is. Well, some people, there's going to be a debate about that, whether football weather is in rain and whatnot. But this will be for all the fans, everyone that's been soaked for the past few weeks, it will be a nice, beautiful day for football. This is football weather. Having the one-off games of rain or snow, that's also football weather. But football weather, like you said, it is 40 to 60 degrees, nice sun, like 40 to 60 degrees that you can get sunburned in. That's football weather. Could you imagine if it was hot when the NFL playoffs were going on? Which, you know, sorry, no, that's not what we do here. That is one of the weird things about the UFL, is they try to find their spot on the calendar, is like seeing 88 degree games, and it's like the championship game. You know what I mean? It's very weird. Yeah. All right. What do we have for trivia this week, Kyle? All right. So you guys are still tied at 6-6. I decided to pick a barn burner for this one. We're going to go to the 2015 game. The Giants and the Saints are tied 17-all in their matchups all time. The Saints ended up winning this game November 1st, 2015, 52-49 and it was notoriously or famously a historically offensive game. So we're going to do, it's not Price is Right rules. I want to see if you guys can get to the closest. We're going to do total passing touchdowns, total passing yards, total completions, and whoever's closest will get the point. You're muted for both teams combined, combined passing. So Eli versus Eli, Andrew Brees combined, total touchdowns, total passing yards, total completions. Okay. So write it down somewhere so we're not going off of each other. So let's see. Yards. So while you guys write that down, there was also two turnovers in this game that definitely impacted the outcome. Unfortunately, Eli Manning had a fumble and I think Wynn had a fumble. In the second half. I've got my answers here. Wait. I'm sorry. It was total touchdowns, total yards and what was the third thing? Total completions. Total passing touchdowns, right? Yes, correct. We're just doing strictly QB stats passing. Okay. I have mine. Grump, how are you doing over there? You struggling? No. I'm on my last one. I'm trying to get a good guess on completions. All right. Do you say it's just close? It's not Price is Right, right? Yeah. We're not going to do Price is Right because then someone might change it. All right. Go ahead, Bobby. Why don't you give me your numbers first? All right. For completions, I have 60. I'm confident in 11 passing touchdowns, and I have 858 passing yards. Okay, Grump, you want to give me yours? I have 920 yards. I have 10 passing touchdowns, and I have 78 completions. How many touchdowns? Can you do the last two again? 10 touchdowns, 78 completions. I think. Does anyone remember Duane Harris getting his hair pulled? Yes. I feel like Danny and Jolly have went... I think Danny and Jolly asked the exact same question from this game of who scored the touchdown. So now it's like, all right, Odell three, Duane Harris one, Shane Vareen. All right, so what do we got here? You guys tie for completions for distance away. So I'll give the numbers first, but you'll both get a point for that. So that's one point and Bobby was closest for the other two. It was 11 passing touchdowns because Eli had six, Breeze had five, right? It was 13 total passing touchdowns. Six and seven? Breeze, that's the historical part of the game. You get seven passing touchdowns in that game. So we're looking at 11 total touchdowns, 855 passing yards and 69 completions. The first half had 507 yards of total offense in the first half. So that's just like, it was an insane game. I suggest anybody go back and just watch it. I think the full thing is on YouTube. So it was a barn burner and both QBs at their best. And I kind of forget how good Drew Breeze was, but it was insane. That was, I remember specifically a lot of ex players after that game saying that it was definitely a game. Oh my God, what is the name of the defensive coordinator from 2007? He's now with the Chiefs. He's been there for a long time. Yeah. They all said that's a Spags defense right there. That's what happens with Spags. I don't know if you guys remember that, but there was a lot of Spags slander at that time. I mean, if you were watching that game, I can understand why you would be a little upset. There are so many blown coverages in that game. It was awful. It was gross to watch. So right now, Bobby leads. So what is it? Nine to seven. Get ready to get kicked out of Applebee's Grump. Get ready to get out of Applebee's Grump. We're going to go through the fantasy and spread picks pretty soon. I'm coming roaring back, guys. You guys have little faith in me. Yeah, but super tight. I'm just saying. Well, let's talk about whatnot first. So a lot of our listeners know a diecast collector. And by the way, Kyle's a racing fan. Maybe we'll do a NASCAR segment and really get you guys to turn this show off. But don't do it until we're done with the whatnot ad read. And you say, what is whatnot? Well, it's whatever you want it to be, really. It's the largest live shopping marketplace in the United States where shopping happens in real time, real people, real conversations. I just jumped on Highland diecast collectibles and I said, any Ligano. And if he puts one up during this ad read, I will buy it for you, Kyle. So that's a Bobby Skinner guarantee. And you can really buy anything on there again. It's not just diecasts and ripping cards, you know. And I know the card collecting is the big thing. I know this is probably a little contrary to what whatnot wants me to say. I'm trying to not get into cards because I know if I get in the cards, I'm going to get in the cards heavy. But that's the thing, what not. It's not just scrolling through looking for what you want. Like they have live streams, going through cards, opening diecasts, hundreds, thousands of people tune in. Right now, there's 232 people in this one right now. Right now, he has a Blaney body armor. It feels like Blaney body armor comes up every single time when we're doing this ad read. So and I know our crowd is going to be into the sports card stuff. Four sports cards are sold every second on Whatnet. And again, the sellers know their stuff. These aren't people just clearing out junk. They know what they're doing. They're dedicated businesses going live around the clock. And they know what they're selling and you get to interact and check everything out before you check out. You can ask a question against an instant answer. I've thought about, it makes me want to start one, but maybe I'll get Kyle to kind of run the day to day of those things. So I'm about to get some from Highland Diecast Collectibles that puts Lugano up and you should too from Whatnot. So get $20 off your first purchase right now. Just search Whatnot, W-H-A-T-N-O-T in the App Store. Download, sign up and start finding the things you've been chasing. Terms apply. You'll be glad you did. He hasn't put in, I think he's kind of going in order. I don't think he's taking requests right now, Kyle. Oh, really? I'm being for real. Let me see. I'll keep it open for a little bit. Here. He just sold a Kevin Harvick one. See, this is the issue of doing the Whatnot ads is then I go on Whatnot during them and I don't want to get off of them. So let's see what he's got next. We know of Gano, a famously popular driver. Probably a bunch of them. Somewhat popular. By the way, leave everything up in the editing because this is part of the... Let's see, we got 2026. He's got 10 seconds, man. 10, nine. I don't think it's going to be LeGone. All right, we got to move on. It's time for Fantasy Draft. The Fantasy Draft is heating up, fellas. It's heating up. We are very tight and close and part of that is meaning the fact that it's one of the lowest scoring outputs for the leader since 2021. That should change by the end of the year. Right now, Grump with a 47.3 point outing is in first place. I won last week with a 53.1 point outing. I'm .1 points behind Grump. 1 points. Literally, all I need is a running back to get 2 yards and I would pass him. Kyle, who was in first place, he goes from first to last, but he's only 2.2 points back after a 20 point outing. You know what? 2021 was the lowest scoring. It was also the most fun one we ever did where it went down. The championship was decided. There were five lead changes in the final game of that Jake Farrone QB sneak game. Everyone else was ready for the season to be over and me and Danny King were begging for one more drive as we went through it. I'm picking first this week. This is so difficult on me because I really believe in neighbors and Isaiah Likely. I really do. And I think the Giants have done a good job of like stopping teams top receivers. But Olavi is second in the NFL and receiving. He's their guy. They go to, he's going to get run. Um, so I'm really struggling with who to go here. I'm going to go with Chris Olavi. I just say, I'm going to go with Chris Olavi. I think the Giants should have a good plan to slow him down. But I guess I'll just go with Chris Olavi with the first pick. This is tough because I really believe in neighbors and likely to have big games. Grump, you have the second pick. Give me a leak. Yeah, I think he's the correct one over Isaiah. I mean, back to back, 100 yard games, touchdowns in those games as well too. But it will be interesting to see after these two games, how teams try and game play in Malik Neighbors, but they've been game planning in regardless. Isaiah likely has been the one benefiting from that a little bit. So Malik Neighbors goes second. Kyle, you have back to back picks. After three, it really becomes a crap shoot. Yeah, at least the scoring will be a little bit better in fantasy this week. But with the third pick, I'm going to go Isaiah likely. And with the fourth, I'm going to go Jawan Johnson. Jawan Johnson, I feel like we've been playing him forever. Been a lot of Giants-Saints matchups of recent years. Probably a benefit of them both being last place a lot. See, I had Jawan Johnson actually six on the big board. Because I think because the Giants are going to blitz a lot, I think he's going to be asked to stay into block quite a bit more often. But I had him six on the big board. Grump, your number two pick. This is a little difficult because I didn't think Jawan Johnson was going to go. I was pretty sure that's where I was going to get him. I am stuck between four guys and I'm just going to go with Kam Scadaboo for now. Saints aren't really good at anything. Giants are committed to running the ball. I believe that they're going to try. That pisses me off because I'm going to stay true to my big board here. But I was hoping to get Scadaboo to pair with one of these two. I'm going to go Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller. Kendre Miller, I think is their best back right now, but they're just with Travis Etienne out. I think they're just going to use Alvin Kamara with their lack of options and him still being on that big contract. But I think Kendre Miller is their best running back and might be the guy who has the most success against the bad Giants run defense. So I hate my team. It's All Saints right now. Yeah, I was going to say who's next, Jonathan Vilma, Greg Williams, Drew Brees. I wish Jonathan Vilma. This is much better in this matchup than in TV. Also, I'll go out and say it. I'll just say it. Jonathan Vilma is bad at TV, you guys. What will you say about him, Grump? I'll say- You're next pick, Grump. I'll go out right ahead and call him. I'm going to go Vailay here. Devon Vailay does get a lot of targets. He's getting tough targets too. He makes some nice catches down the field. He does. I think at the end of the day, he's going to be the one that gets forgotten about in coverage for the Giants here and there. It's going to be Joanne Johnson, Chris Olave I'm worried about. I'll go with Vailay and see if I can scrape up maybe a touchdown or one big chunk play. You're hoping for that, huh? Kyle, you have back-to-back picks. Who are you going to pick, man? It's kind of crazy that my big board's almost gone one through seven already, except for the Kendray Miller pick. I had him tenth. But I think I'm going to believe in the Giants offense. I think hopefully they're going to hear it out. And I'll probably just take, I'm going to take both Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney. Yeah. Like I said, those two were just, actually Malachi Fields is actually very predictable. Two catches, 30 yards per game. He just hope one's a touchdown. Yeah. Mooney is like, hey, he could lead you in receiving or not catch any passes in there. So I like the mindset a little bit on that even though these two, this specific game, I don't love them as picks. Grump, who do you have as your final pick? EO Johnson. I actually, I'm a little surprised that one fell to me. I would have taken Theo over Mooney personally. Two touchdowns against the Saints last year. Yeah. I mean, I just think in general, this is the matchup that they're going to want. He runs the seams well. I think that's going to be open. I don't know. Connection seems to be working. I'm hoping my final pick is not a good one. I want to go to Naji Harris. I want Devin Singletary more involved. I think he's better than Naji Harris. Do you guys have any running backs to these giant factors? If so, we can move it. I do not. Yeah. I just want to see Devin Singletary play. I know there's this call for Tyrone Tracy, and I actually think it's understandable. I think Tracy should get some more carries. But I'm not looking for Tracy to like, all right, let's give him a good bit of a workload. Scadaboo, I think, is their best running back. I think Singletary is their second best. I just feel like Singletary works better with what they're trying to do. Singletary can pop off explosives. He has those jump cut moves that make you miss in a phone booth stuff. He's good at pass protection. I wish Devin Singletary wasn't a healthy scratch right now, but unfortunately he is. I'm going to go with him. So, Grump in first place has Malik neighbors, Cam Scadaboo, Donovan Devon-Vele and Theo Johnson. Myself, 1 points back, Chris Olabe, Alvin Kamara, Kendra Miller and Najee Harris. Kyle, 2.2 points back. And last place, Isaiah Likely, Joanne Johnson, Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney. Is it weird that no one wanted Noah Fant? I hit him as nine on the big board, but I think the Giants will be more productive on offense. Yeah, I thought about him as well, too, over Najee Harris, but the Giants play with the lead. And if they start running the ball successfully, they're going to run the ball a lot. And Kim Skybrook fumbled, so maybe even like, I just, I don't know. I kind of hate my team this week, but it is what it is. We're going to get into giant factors. Well, you know what a giant factor is? Factor, and you're like, what's factor? Well, factor is what keeps you going right, right? It keeps you on schedule. It's like a good running game. And we know this time of year is when you need a good running game and it's when you need a good schedule as a human being and eating well is a part of that. It doesn't have to be complicated. I'm up first for Giant Factors this week. My Giant Factor is Dominic Zaveta. Did both of you have him? Okay, Kyle. You got to adjust. I was very happy I got to go first this week. Because this is a huge, huge game for Dominic Zaveta. It's true. He's a rookie and it will be excused. It's rained like there will be excuses for you for having a game where you go two for five. And quite honestly, was a big factor in the Giants losing the game. When we talk about a giant factor, a big factor in the Giants losing the game. John Harbaugh said it was a plant foot issue and he scoffed when they're like, what does that mean? He's like, you guys care about football kicker technique? I was like, yes, we actually do. So I clipped him up the misses in his mix, this is the Lawrence Tynes. And it might have been the best player interaction we've ever had because people are interested in this stuff. So he's so talented, it can be fixed, it can be easily fixed. Lawrence Tynes said, it's a matter of inches. The issue though is that these matter of inches was his issue last year. He literally quoted saying, it was an issue with my plant foot that I've got cleaned up. So if it keeps being an issue, it's not an easy issue to fix, it's a real issue. And if you have a bad game again, the conversation goes from he's a rookie to grace to like, this is, we've got to do something with about this. Is he the guy? So Dominique Zaveda, I have so much hope for Dominique Zaveda. He's so talented. I have a lot of trust in you. Keep it going. Bounce back. Show that it was just a technique issue and not a mental thing. Dominique Zaveda, be a giant factor and make all your damn kicks. Grump, your giant factor. I will celebrate any giant factor that is stolen from Kyle. It makes me happy every single time. But I went with Andrew Thomas. We kind of talked about this a little bit. Andrew Thomas is on a little bit of a slide. If there's one bright spot on this Saints defense, it's kind of just been Chase Young's past rush ability. This year, I think he's somewhere in the neighborhood of like six sacks and 20 pressures and five games. That's a lot for him. I don't know if he had that much in his career. There's a storylines run deep with Andrew Thomas and Chase Young and Giants fans will remember it. So Giants fans are not going to excuse Chase Young getting by Andrew Thomas for six sacks. More than that, I think it's the one thing that the Saints had been doing consistently, which is getting pressure and getting sacks on defense. That's wrecked anything at all. So if the Giants want any chance to win, they just absolutely cannot let Carl Grandison and Chase Young get to the quarterback. I'll give Marcus Mbow some level of grace for not being perfect. He's a backup tackle. But Andrew Thomas is the premier guy with Brian Burns out. I believe he's now our highest paid player. Not that Brian Burns doesn't get his salary, but you know what I mean, active player. I'm sorry. I know you have a groin injury. It sucks. That's kind of football. You have to still be lights out in this game. And I expect him to, right? Andrew Thomas, be a giant factor, shut down Chase Young, let's win this game. Kyle, you're a giant factor. It was definitely not Dominic Zavada. My giant factor this week is going to be Camp Scadaboo, the one that Grump stole from me first, I guess. This game could be a bounce back game for two players. Dominic Zavada being one of them, Camp Scadaboo being the other. It's time to show resolve and forward to that we all know that you have. And you can control the game with already struggling rushing defense from the Saints. Show us your resolve, be resolute, be a giant factor. All right, that's Giants Factors. Time to get into the spread picks. The listeners, five and three. Did I miss something? I was looking at my phone. No, I'm just in pain. That's all. Okay. The listeners jumped to first place with a five and three week there at 21 and 19. I went five and three as well. Kyle went four and four, so we are tied for second at 20 and 20. Thursday Night Football, maybe that can make the difference of who's in first place. Then Grump, five and three, stacking good weeks, 16 and 23. Thursday Night Football, Seahawks at Broncos plus two and a half. The listeners represented by Ryan F are going Broncos plus two and a half. Thursday Night Football, I think the Seahawks are a better team anyways, but I expect the Seahawks should just be prepared and ready to go. It feels like they've been like that for every moment. I know they lost to the 49ers. I'm going to go Seahawks minus two and a half. I believe in Seattle against the Denver Broncos and Bo Nicks, who's getting coordinator fired. Grump, what do you got? I got Broncos. Seahawks have been on a downward slide last couple of weeks. They have not looked like the Seahawks that we saw in the Super Bowl. I don't actually believe in them on Thursday night. Well, I missed a Thursday night, by the way. I'm 1-0 in my last one game on Thursday night football this year. Put the shirt on then. Thursday night. Kyle, who do you want? I got the Seahawks. Yeah, that's Thursday night, 1-0. Kyle's got the Seahawks. We got Texans at Jags minus two and a half. By the way, we're going to play Marvin Harrison Jr. twice in four weeks. Isn't that funny? It's freaking hilarious. Just because he scores another goal line touchdown against Deontay Banks. A London game. The Jags in London. By the way, the NFL making the Jags be at the away team essentially in London was totally f'd up. Texans at Jags minus two. I don't think London really embraces the Jags by the way. Some people do. I've seen random videos of people asking Brits like, why are the Jags your team? Well, they used to come here a lot, so I just latched on to them. It's a little bit- Okay, but the Sheermouth Eagles fans there was jarring to say the least. They were so loud in that stadium. Yes, I feel like most European football fans, just like they gravitate towards the more popular teams and then, I don't know. Who do you guys got in this one? I got Texas plus two and a half. I feel like they've got to be better than what they are. They had a nice get-right game against the Tennessee Titans. I'm going to go Texas plus two and a half. The listener has to go Jags. Kyle, who do you got? Have the Jags stayed there since last week? Yes. Yes. I feel like that's a pretty big advantage. I have the Jags in this one. Grump? I'm going Jags too. I just saw the list of guys not making the trip for Houston. It's like Jalen Petrie. It's a bunch of guys. I'm going Jags. Maybe I'll switch my pick. Listen, do your thing, but every time I've switched my pick, I've regretted it. Jags in London. You're right. I'm going Texans. I'm in last place because I switched like three weeks in a row. Panthers at Eagles plus three and a half. I changed this one since I sent you guys to run down since the Jalen Hurts. It's now plus three and a half. Update accordingly. I still got Panthers minus three and a half. I would have had the Panthers even with Jalen Hurts. Carolina, keep pounding. Grump, are you rooting for the home team this week? Are you kidding me? They're playing the Eagles. Absolutely. I'd root for this country of China over the Eagles. Shot a fire to China. It's a state enemy. What do you want from me? Carolina is putting up major points lately. Philadelphia, they look quite literally lost both on the field and off the field. I don't know what the deal is with them, but I'm enjoying it. Kyle, Grump's green shirt says otherwise. I got the Panthers. You got the same green shirt. Yeah, you would. It's Lugano. It specifically says Lugano on there. It doesn't change the color of it. At least I have some kind of marker saying it's not the Eagles. Grump could be Jordan Vernon for all we know. It's Calvin Klein. I don't know where he's from. Was it Philly? I bet Lugano probably is a fake Panthers fan like all the other NASCAR people. No, he has to be like a UConn fan. Ravens at Brown. First place game. Brown is plus five and a half. Who you got in this one, Kyle? I got the Browns to cover. Grump? I'm going Ravens. I think the Browns success is a little unsustainable. Yeah, I was never on the Browns bandwagon, but I feel like this is where, this is the beginning of, you see a graphic in December and it's like one and eight, the Browns record since Todd Monk had said not the same old Browns. Right. So I'm going to go Ravens minus five and a half, the listeners agree. I still feel comfortable even with Lamar out. They won last week with Tyler. Yeah. It's like last year where we beat the Eagles and we fell on top of the world. It's like, I don't know, and it's like loses eight straight. Titans at Colts minus six and a half, this is very much a product of there's not a lot of good games going on. Dable versus DJ, Dable versus DJ. I'm going to go Colts. I'm going to go DJ. The Titans are, they're not just like bad, like they are in a state of disaster. They're firing like different types of employees. They're not confirming it. They're kicking out people in media. Me and Grump have talked about this. I see a lot of Titans media for some reason. It takes Giants seasons of chaos and stuff and just kicks it to another level. They're demanding, why aren't these people speaking? They are personally offended by a lot of this stuff. So I'm going to go Colts minus six and a half. I just can't pick the Titans until they show they can win a game. Grump. I'm going to go Colts as well. How can I possibly pick the Titans until they show that they even look like a football team? They look terrible. Well, I'll say this, the Titans have played within one score in three of their five games? Some. You can hang that banner. But that, I mean, that would cover in this game. That's true. Yeah. Yeah, I still don't feel it though. Listeners, you got Titans. Kyle, who do you got? I have the Colts. Do you think we get a funny shot of DJ and Dave will trying to like handshake or something? I don't know, but I need somebody to alert me. Cause I'm assuming that's a one o'clock game, right? I would like to have that picture on my phone of like doing another pregame interaction, which they did not like each other at the end. What was I just going to say? Here's the issue with the Titans too, of why it's such a state of disaster is like, Cam Ward has been bad. He hasn't won at all. But Cam Ward isn't like the ugly OMG Will Levis bad. It's very boring bad. The OMG ugly bad, it's like, you bench him. Cam Ward is like, he's not doing so bad, and we give up and we want to go to Mason Rudolph. So that's part of the reasons. The Titans are rightfully not benching him, but he's won three games in his career. Bills at Raiders plus four and a half. The Raiders got blown out last week. Bills coming off a big Monday Night Football game. Who are you having this one, Grump? Bills. Bills all the way. I believe in what the Raiders are building, but it's not happening very quickly. I'm going with Buffalo. I think the Raiders bounce back, and the Bills, I think, are a mess. They're going to have to win a lot of one-score games, so I'm going to say the Raiders bounce back, keep it clean, and at least lose this game by three points. Kyle, who you got? The Raiders, fuck Buffalo. All right. Listeners are going Bills. Chargers at Chiefs, let's go quick. Chargers at Chiefs minus seven and a half. I figured, I picked a lot of favorites. Let me take the team with the seven and a half point spread. I'll go Chargers plus seven and a half. Listeners are going Chiefs. Kyle, who do you have? I'll go Chiefs. Grump. Chiefs score on average 30 points a game. Chargers haven't even gotten close to that, so I know seven and a half is a lot. Yeah. Chiefs-Chargers for a long time was the ultimate. It's always a three point game, no matter who wins. The final one, we got a revenge game for Michael Parsons, but he's not playing. But remember last year, there was a 40 to 40 tie. Cowboys at Packers minus one and a half. Listeners are going Packers. Kyle, who do you got? Packers. Grump. The Cowboys, the only Cowboys. Yeah, I think the Cowboys offense puts on a show this week, bounces back a little bit extra rest. Disappointing. Yeah, I think that offense can blow out the Packers. So I'm going to go Cowboys as well. So we've arrived at New Orleans Saints at New York Giants, one o'clock, Metlife Stadium, score predictions. Kyle, what do you got for this game? I do think that with the better weather, it's going to be beautiful. We should see a lot more offense. Both defenses struggle in some regards. I think it's going to be a little higher scoring than what we've seen all year. I'm going to go Giants 30, Saints 23. Prompt. Man, Kyle and I, almost saying the same things. I think the Giants can go ahead and score some points in this game. I think that towards the end of the game, the Saints are going to score some garbage time points, but I think that this is one that the Giants should have in the bag, we should finally feel comfortable in a game and not chewing our fingernails down to a stub at the very end of the game. I'm saying Giants 30 Saints 17. Wouldn't it be nice? Wouldn't it be nice to just blow out a team at home, make your fans happy? The Giants are undefeated at home this year. Let's keep it that way. Let's keep it that way. Let's go undefeated at home. Let's go 4-0 home, but let's make this one an easy, nice, enjoyable win for the Giants. James Winston revenge game. Take down New Orleans, Nola and win this damn game. Giants 77, Saints 0. We'll see you guys with a victory podcast afterwards. We'll see you then. Until then, let's go big blue.

“This is a flat out bad defense. And the reality is, I mean, think to yourself, list the names of the Saints defense.”
- New York Giants team · negative
