Giants Nation Show (Giants Podcast)
Giants Handle Cowboys & Start 1-0 | Breaking Big Blue w/ Jordan Raanan
This transcript does not include audio timing.
Welcome, everyone, I'm Breaking Big Blue. I'm your host Jordan Raanan, ESPN, espn.com. Giants Reporter, we're live, week one, Victory Monday, demolition of the Dallas Cowboys. Kind of reminds me a little bit of 2016, right? So Ben McAdoo's first year, first game back for Victor Cruz, big win for the Giants, they rolled out into an 11 and 5 season, a really good season. Now we're sitting here with John Harbaugh, first game and really there's not much you could say about this game other than this. The Giants were the better team. They dominated the game. I know the score was 28-20, it was a one-score game. The fact that it was 8-0-7, really stupid play by Jafonte Williams there in the fourth quarter. But just everything you wanted to see from the Giants was there. When John Harbaugh laid out the blueprint for what he wanted this to look like, for what he wanted this team to look like, this was it. Think about it. Big physical team. They were clearly the more physical team. Won both lines in scrimmage. 160 to 69 was the rushing. So the Giants ran first 160 yards, ran the ball extremely well, held the Cowboys to 69 yards. A lot of that, by the way, came in the second half when Jafonte Williams actually ran the ball well. So did well on both those ends. Dominated the lines that John Harbaugh even said after the game. As a matter of fact, if he probably was going to give a game ball, if he should be, to the offensive and defensive lines. Right? And you have Jaxson Dart playing incredible, just a really solid game, decisive with his decision making, getting to that second and third reads, getting the ball out. Malik Nabers makes his comeback. We'll get into some of the details of that. That was a little weird. But Malik Nabers makes his comeback. He looks good. He's trending in the right direction now. Isaiah, likely, he was the top receiver all summer long. The chemistry was there with Jaxson Dart. Guess what? Translates right to the game. He's now their 1B receiver. Malachi Fields looks good. Patrick Ricard, in addition to the offensive line. CeCe Maui-Noah, the first round pick, right guard, plays great. The whole offensive line in general. Excellent game from them. Jermaine Luminor actually graded out at the highest guy on pass block win rate, run block win rate. That's according to our ESPN stats. So he was great. The whole line as a whole is no longer a weakness. As a matter of fact, and we said this, I thought it was the strength of the offense all summer long, all off season long. Well, guess what? The strength of the team is the offensive line now. It really is. And that run game. John Harbaugh, coaching advantage, attention to details, looked excellent. Everything they wanted this team to be is what it was. Kam Skadabu coming back from injury. Guess what? Ran with power, ran hard. What do you do to Demar Vian Overshaun? Mawagawa. He's basically there, Mawagawa. Ran him over twice. He looked good running the ball. Yeah, sure. We could sit here. We nitpick. The fumbles were a problem. The cornerbacks, I mean, the past interferences. I know one of them I thought was kind of bogus on Drew Phillips. But you got to think, can we stop holding people's arms down the field? I mean, if you want to stop penalties called, we actually forgot to ask John Harbaugh about that today. I wanted to. The fumbles, the cornerbacks, those are things that we got to keep talking about. Could be problems going forward. But I mean, come on, the Giants were the better team. This is a Dallas Cowboys team that had beaten 16 of the past 18 times. Dak Prescott hadn't really lost a game that wasn't in January at the end of the season. It didn't really mean anything since his rookie year against the Giants. Well, guess what? At home, in a great atmosphere, by the way, John Harbaugh even said the atmosphere was off to chains. Great atmosphere. I usually get to the game four hours before the game. Zoom in, nobody there. Guess what? Four hours before the game. I'm stuck in traffic. It took me an hour 45 minutes to get to the stadium. On the way home, it takes me 45 minutes, obviously, because I was 2.30 in the morning, got home at 3.30 in the morning. As a matter of fact, I didn't even hear anything. I slept till 9.30 this morning, which is like, might as well be the afternoon for me at this point. But that's the kind of atmosphere was the 9-11 commemorations, tributes were great, the motorcycles on the field, the introductions. I thought actually Malik Nabers, Malik Nabers, I think, got the biggest introduction out of everybody. Obviously, we didn't know if Nabers was going to play, but ends up playing, slipped a couple of times, so you still see he's still trying to get his feet right, get his feet underneath them. But Malik Nabers on the field, in the second half, you saw a little bit of that explosion when he got the ball in his hands on two different plays. So, I don't know. I don't know how you come away from this game, if you're a Giants fan, and don't feel really good about this team. And at the very least, we said this was the goal. And if it's not, if they're not in this spot by December, it's extremely disappointing. They need to, at the very least, be in the, when they put that picture on the screen, and they'd say, playoff race. If they're not at the very least in the hunt, they're not one of the teams listed there in the hunt, something went very, very wrong. So, and to me, the best thing about this was, and I think this was kind of lacking for a while, is the Giants, especially under Brian Daybaum and Joe Shane, they were all over the place. They seemed to be like a rudderless ship, changing directions by the day. And you never really sense the common denominator with them. With John Harbaugh, you have it. You have a direction. You have a vision. And I said to Kemp Scadable, when you were out there, is this kind of what you thought this was supposed to look like, you know, when John Harbaugh came in? And he said yes, because that's what he told them when he came in. He came in there. He went into that first team meeting, when everybody mocked. And he said, I want us to be bullies. I want us to be a big physical team. I want to run the football. I want to run the football, be bullies. And guess what? Then we're going to hit play action on top of that. And that's where we're going to come up with our big plays. And guess what? That's exactly what the Giants did. And not only did they do it, but think about this for a second. They did it against a division rival at home in a prime time game. Like if you're a good team, you win against division rivals at home in prime time games. And it's not like this is a bad Cowboys team. This is a Cowboys team, and I'm guilty of it, that I thought was going to be good this year. I'm not saying they won't be good, but their defense certainly looks suspect. Their defense, I mean, they made a lot of mistakes. Dak Crescott, if you're a Giants fan, say thank you very much, okay? Because that play at the end of the first half was just a bonehead play. Silly, dumb bonehead play. I'm not sure if he was trying to just give his guy a chance, because it was basically he's rolling right. Easily 99 percent of the time he throws the ball out of bounds. Either A, he just made the wrong throw and kept it in bounds by accident. I think he's too good for that. Or B, he had a little frustration because they weren't really grooving offensively, and he saw one of his players, number 19, Fleuroy, I think it was. Saw one of his guys and one of the Giants guys over there on that side of the field, and threw it to the open space and said, you know what, maybe my guy can beat him to it. Either way, huge mistake, because the Giants get the ball there, 50 something seconds left to forget the exact number. I think it was 52 or 54. Get the ball there, score a touchdown super quickly, right to the point where Dallas even has time to almost maybe kick a field goal, if they had completed one of those passes, they would have had a really long field goal time. But Dallas gets it, I mean, the Giants get that touchdown, which probably was a little bit of a gift right there. And then able to get the ball at the beginning of the second half and get the 14, score there, 14 points, boom, boom, boom, the game is essentially over at that point. And then the icing on the cake, is the Giants, what couldn't they do last year? Finish the games, right? They blew all these games, they blew these double digit leads. They get the ball back with 525 remaining, and run out the clock. Usually they call it a four-minute offense. They did it with five minutes and 25 seconds remaining. So, that was just absolutely dominant performance by the Giants. What you wanted to see from them, I don't think you could have drawn anything up, anything up better than this. It like basically checked all the boxes you wanted to check. Hey, we need to see Jaxson Dart. The biggest key this year is Jaxson Dart making that growth, throwing from the pocket. Week one, brilliant performance. What do you have, six incompletions? Ran the ball well? Wasn't even running around and scrambling too much. It was actually designed runs. So, check on that part. Camp Scadaboo back, running game, offensive line. Check, check, check. Isaiah likely being that guy. Right? Never had 500 yards receiving. We were, I thought it was a good move at the time, but you're hoping it's still projection. You're hoping he develops into that guy. He evolves into that guy. And guess what? Week one, who doesn't think he could be that guy now? Now is a long way to go. That's probably the top of what you're going to see from him. Right? Because eight out of eight, eight targets and catching all eight of them. Some of them, it's been two of them in the final drive on third down. I mean, just it was such an extension of the summer because that was the one thing you saw all summer long. When Jaxson Dart needed a completion, and it was a while it was these were his own, those were his only completions. Those plays you saw the likely, those were his only completions a lot of days. That and swing passes early in camp. But when they needed those plays, Isaiah likely was the dude. And Malik Nabers will eventually get back, and he'll be that dude soon too. And if you have Malik Nabers at the top of his game, and Isaiah likely playing like that with a run game, you're in business. You're in business. Running back rotation, worth mentioning. Camp Scadaboo clear number one, we knew that. Devin Singletary actually was the number two. I think he's more like the passing down back, trust him most as a blocker. Now Tyrone Tracy was going to get an opportunity. He was going to have an opportunity. The very second drive of the game. Tyrone Tracy comes on the field and he gets the first carry. But his second carry of the game, he fumbles. Now you have to wonder, does he even have a place here? Now he played special teams. But the Giants saying, you know what? We can find someone else to play that special teams role. Najee Harris, come on down. You're going, you're in. So that's where we stand right now with the Giants, and where everything stands with that running back rotation. It's Kemp Scadaboo's show. OK? And everybody else is secondary. Devin Singletary, though, part of that mix. And you know what? Let's be fair. Devin Singletary, he earned it. He did. He earned it this summer. He had a good summer. He outplayed Tyrone Tracy. He probably had the best summer of all the running backs. Kemp Scadaboo was a little like limited because they were bringing him along slowly at times. But there he goes. So Devin Singletary is going to be part of that mix. Najee Harris probably going to be part of that mix sometime soon. And Tyrone Tracy is going to have to wait for probably another opportunity because the reality is he didn't get on the field after the fumble on offense. Did not get on the field. Speaks volumes right there. Wide receiver rotation. Guess what? You didn't see him that much. His best play was actually probably a catch he made out of bounds, which was an awesome catch. Made one play, run after the catch. I think I'm pulling it up right now. If I remember right, Malachi Fields, he had two catches, two for 20 of that. But he led the team in wide receiver snaps. Right, out of 40-something, I mean, sorry, 60-something snaps. I forget the exact number. I think it's 63. Pulling it up right now. I've taught my him. After 63 snaps, he played what, 49. And like we said from the start, his biggest contribution as a rookie, and yet he's going to make catches. He's going to make some contestant catches. But his biggest contribution is going to be probably as a blocker and in that run game. Malik Nabers coming back. He was second. The Giants, Darnell Mooney was second actually. 39, Nabers 36, Berrios and Beckham 11 each. So there you go. Giants wide receiver reps right there. That's kind of the wide receiver and running back rotation. Cornerback, it's Deontay Banks and it's Greg Newsome. Now, that is a problem, okay? That is going to be a problem. You could see it in this game. They were kind of fortunate. You know, they got a bunch of penalties. Drew Phillips had three pass interferences. Newsome had one. So the four total pass interference penalties, one of them I thought was bogus. On Phillips, the other ones, you can't hold guys arms. I know people were complaining. You can't hold the receivers arms. You're going to have to cross your fingers and hope to get lucky that the ref doesn't see it. So way too handsy. I wonder how patient they are with Drew Phillips. I know Deontay Banks was okay. I wasn't blown away there. The numbers actually don't look great because of the pass interference of Dak Prescott's passing. But then you add the pass interference. And then the Cowboys receivers had a couple of balls that generally they would catch. George Pickens played a pretty terrible game. CD Lamb, they did a pretty good job with CD Lamb. I'll give credit on that. But do they move Ardarius Washington more into that nickel cornerback role? That would be something I'm looking forward at, looking into or looking at as we move forward here. But kudos to the Giants. Guess what? They were the better team than the Dallas Cowboys. That's it. Hands down, case closed. There's really not much else to it. With that being said, Bobby, wake up. I know you're tired. We all worked late last night. On to the next one. Thank you for having me on your show. My name is Bobby Skinner of Giants Nation Show. This is episode one of the season, so if people listen to the first time, go check out Giants Nation Show. First, before I- No, I really did. I screwed the pooch at the beginning. I did not say Giants Nation Show time is breaking big blue. I did not. You're messing up the branding. I am. But before we get into our stuff, I want to talk to you guys about Ultra. I've had to use this stuff today because how many pouches, cups of coffee or any drinks did you need per day to stop your stuff from crashing, especially when like last night, go to bed at 3, wake up at 6.30, start grinding the film, bro, and getting through everything. So I've needed Ultra today. Again, that's why I started using Ultra Pouches, and they've been a complete game changer for my focus and energy levels. First off, these pouches are completely nicotine free and caffeine free. You're probably thinking if they don't have nicotine or caffeine in them, what exactly is them? Great question. Ultra partnered with leading neuroscientists designed these pouches. They use clinically proven nootropics and adaptogens to deliver immediate focus and smooth air and gel acid one to two hours. I said it on the show last night. At first, I said no to this company because I just assumed they were a nicotine company when I saw pouches and they were like, no, we don't do nicotine or whatever. I was like, all right, but you're not setting up to be a nicotine company. They told me no, so we're happy to work with them. They are truly clean plant powered patches designed to sharpen your mind and lift your energy all without caffeine, nicotine or crash. It's nice to not feel that caffeine crash on a long night of watching the film, bro. Take the mid-afternoon, I'm going to take one after this as I work on Offensive Line Report. Plus, 90% of users saw significant improvements in their overall focus levels. Trusted by Joe Burrow and over 100 professional football players. I don't know about you guys, but I like the water amount. Ultra is the ultimate guilt-free pouch. Deliver instant focus and mental clarity without nicotine or caffeine. Please support our show and tell them our show sent you. You'll be glad you did. So, my big takeaway, obviously, I've talked about this a lot on the show and on social media. This didn't feel fluky at all. This felt like, hey, the Giants are playing their brand of football. It worked. You know, after watching the film, and you get a whole full 24 hours to digest, you're always like, okay, what was my overreaction? Did I overreact negatively, positively? I still do have a, hey, this was awesome. They played their brand, but watching it is, hey, the Cowboys defense, a lot of mis- I don't know what their linebackers are doing and stuff, but like Jaxson Dart played smart football. He just wasn't out there just freelancing. That way they run the ball, they're going to continue to be able to do that. Defensively, I think is the question. I mean, the Cowboys, they scored 100 percent of their drives in the second half. It just happened to only be two drives. Well, that's how you hide some of the deficiencies, right? Like that's what we talked about. You have that run game, you have a long drives, you slow the game down. Honestly, that's why it was exactly what we thought this summer, like their recipe for success was. Yeah. If you go listen to our preview pod, and we always on our preview pods, we put together like the path to victory. This was it. They basically did it perfectly, where Denard Wilson put a roof on the defense, and they weren't able to get, they were able to win, but they weren't able to get those big, big plays, those game changing plays on their offense. With that, because like, hey, he's going to play, he's going to make some good throws, but he will give you an opportunity to get a turnover because he's so aggressive. You have that, you made the most out of it, so it's just the Giants played their ball. Isaiah, likely, like, he is everything that we saw in training camp. It's nice to see a guy ball out in training camp when that transfer to the regular season. Dart looked like he has taken steps as a quarterback. So yeah, is this team going to go undefeated or, you know, be perfect? There's going to be some moments where we're frustrated this year, but it feels like the belief in John Harbaugh, at least for one week, there's a reason why we were so excited for him this off season and bought into what he's building. Yeah, I mean, it was like, hey, we laid out a blueprint. We sold you on, here's what we're going to do and here's why it's going to be successful. And then you took it to the field. And guess what? It was exactly what you wanted. It was proof of concept that you know what? Hey, this is going to work, right? Like that's exactly what this was. I don't know how you sit there and you're sitting there today as a giant fan and you don't feel good about what they put on the field and where this team is going now. Do they need to still work on certain spots on the roster moving forward? Absolutely. But just like this is what we talked about these last couple of weeks as we got ready for the season and we get the normal talking points of like optimism and vibe and stuff. And it's like, man, that is usual, right? Like I know I did my preview pod monologue every year. I was like, I'm tired. Like you know what? I've heard all these things before. Win. That is what I'm looking for, to win games. And this is it. So when we're looking at the schedule and saying what's their path to a successful season by winning games, it's by winning one of these first two games against the Cowboys and Rams. And now you don't, if you go three and one from week three to six, you have a winning record instead of being at 500, you know, in that stretch. Or if you go undefeated in that stretch against weak teams, now you're five and one going up against the Texans and like as other teams start to fall apart and stuff. So that's like, we're judging them by wins. And I think we saw, it's like, it doesn't, it's, you don't have to be perfect to be good in the NFL. Like again, they're not going to be a great, amazing team, but like if the stuff that they're building is real, they should win games. And they won one last night and it wasn't flukey. It wasn't, you know, they got lucky on the turnover, you know, battle or whatever. Like they just, they played their brand of ball, their corners, that's their weakness on the group. We'll see when another team commits to the run against them. I think they, their style of play helped against that because the Cowboys didn't have the opportunity to be patient with the run game. But even then, like the Cowboys scored both of their drives in the second half. So they played their game and I'm excited for them to continue to do it. There's going to be frustrating moments this year. But now I do believe, hey, I might be happy by the win-loss record at the end of the year. Yeah, like I said, and I even said this in our season preview, they're going to beat some good teams. They have a recipe that can be successful. Teams that are built differently that might not be great up front. They'll be able to control the tempo, control the ball. And it really is. You know what? I got a text from somebody, a couple of people actually, during the game last time. And a bunch of them, they know John Harbaugh pretty well. They're like, what do you think? And to a man, to a T, they're all like, that looks like a John Harbaugh team. And the other part was Bobby, Jaxson Dart looks like a different quarterback. And that is really just, I mean, if you want to get excited as a Giants fan, that is the thing. I mean, forget, we all know. Beating the Cowboys, being 1-0 in week one, that's exciting if you're a Giants fan, right? You feel good. You're like, we're beating the Cowboys is great. We're 1-0, we're a threat in the division, automatically, which means at least the second best team in the division. Now, on top of that, you say, our quarterback might be that dude. That should take your optimism to level 10 right now. Well, that's what I said. People say wins aren't a quarterback stat. Yes, they are. They're just not a solely quarterback stat. But if he was doing it by just running around, it would have been different. Yeah. There's a reason why the best quarterbacks in NFL just happen to be in the playoffs every year, even if their teams aren't perfect around them. It's not a super bowl. But wins are a playoff stat, or else we wouldn't be saying Eli Manning deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, which he does. But making throws in the pocket on third and 10, maybe it wasn't third and 10, but third and seven, third and five on the game winning drive, those are big time throws. That was really just a continuation of what Jaxson Dart did all night, Bobby. He looked excellent. And so, you know, when that's why people, other coaches around the league are telling me, he looks like a different quarterback. You look at that and you're like, okay, that is reason to think, you know, if you want to start dreaming and, you know, and look, I don't think their Giants are going to the Super Bowl this year. I'm obviously just, I did think about it today though. I'll be honest with you. I did think about like, hey, what if we go to Super Bowl this year? I'm completely just created a hyperbolic situation right there. But if you want to dream about how good things are going to be, it's with the quarterback doing the things that he did last night in regards to throwing the football. His running, did he even run the ball? I'm not even sure if any of maybe one of his runs were just like, oh, I'm under pressure, scramble, run, get out. It was one play, action play at the end of the game. The other ones were designed runs. Yeah. And how about this? And it is a narrative, and it is a meaningful narrative, because he has to stay on the field. You don't want him to get hurt. And he did miss two games last year, and he did leave a bunch of games. He slid. He got out of bounds. That clearly is something that means something to him, and he's working on. And I'm not too worried about the narrative long term, because I feel like I heard the same thing with Josh Allen, I heard the same thing with Lamar Jackson. You heard the same thing with Mahomes after their first year or two. Everyone's saying they have to protect themselves better. Like I think naturally, he'll protect themselves better. But you saw that part of it too. Like that was there on full display. No one's talking about that today, by the way. And most times that would have been a very notable point. Hey, did you see him slide? Did you see him get out of bounds? Sure, he got late hit on the time he went out of bounds. But he did the right thing there to get himself out of bounds. And he got the 15 yards because of it. Yeah, so it was extremely impressed from him. Like that's why I said, like they lead to wins. You mentioned third down. That was, I think, one of the more impressive parts about Jaxson Dart's game as a rookie. They were nine for 11 on third down in this game, 81 percent. Doug Analytics put out a stat that the Giants were successful on 28 out of 30 series. Every time they had a first down, getting either a touchdown or another first down. Since 2000, that's the 21st best game as a 93 percent success rate out of 14,000 games. Like they were money. And that's where, like I said, and the naggy was the naggy Harbaugh, Callahan and draw a blank on the run guy right now. Greg Roman. And Greg Roman offense, it looked, it looked good. I mean, you can't even come up with knocks on that offense right now. It was smart. The design was great. The touchdown to likely, I believe that his second touchdown, I thought was an unbelievable play where they basically have, first of all, they're faking the jet sweep. Then they're basically making it look like they're throwing to the, it was Ricard, I think that was going to the flat there. Scadaboo? Okay. Scadaboo, you know, to the flat there. Set up like you're doing a play action misdirection, going to the flat there. And guess what? The play is to then turn back inside and throw the ball to Dart. I mean, sort of from Dart to Isaiah, likely turn around at the hash after he's looking like he's blocking. That was a thing of beauty. Yeah. So a lot of good things. You know, we'll clean it up all on our mailbag and stuff after watching the film. And listen, I don't want to overreact too. I'm having a lot of fun today. But I also, after watching the film, I realized, okay, the Cowboys defense is bad, right? Like we kind of gave them some credit for having better coaching. And they do have better coaching. But again, those linebackers were just lost. Like, you know, the stuff in the flats, like there was mistakes. So it's like, you know, got to grow off of this. But this is the part of like, hey, this is what an imperfect team that won four games last year. You get the new coach, and you get the year two quarterback, win these types of games, where their offense on the other side is a deadly force. And you know what? The Cowboys offense probably ends up being a top five offense in the NFL this year. So, that offense is a good offense. Yeah. But do you know what they did really well against that offense, especially early? They couldn't run the ball, the Cowboys. They did not run the ball. Well, the Cowboys got, they only handed the ball off like 13 times. Like they got away from it. But they were only getting, I think it was 3.1 per carry in the first half. Yeah, they were good. Yeah, they were good. They didn't have any of the explosives, which was obviously an issue for the Giants last year. You know, so it's like Alexander and Akoy were like barely had to be on the field. By the way, Chauncey Goldston is basically a full-time defensive tackle now. They had him, they had all four of those guys on the field. He played well, by the way. Yeah, 15 plays. Well, so 3.6 yards per carry for the Cowboys at halftime now. Yeah, awesome. You know, so again, there's this team is not perfect, but man, what a great game for the Giants. I want to get into some things here. Let's do something that's a little lighthearted. John Harbaugh tackled Malik Nabers. Do you have any sources of how this happened? Like, did he give him a shoulder check? Did he, you know, did he drive his legs and wrap up? Like, that's more of the more insane story. It's, it's, it almost tops the Brian Dable blue tent thing last year. I could not imagine seeing that live. I think this is like one of those things that's, it's like a good little story, but it's kind of overblown. He, I don't think he really tackled him. But did he bring him to the ground though? Like, so here's, here's the discrepancy. Nabers says no. Dart said yes. Dart said we turned around and they were on the ground. I think maybe like Harbaugh, I think it was more of like, and Harbaugh admitted like I didn't tackle him. Like I, you kind of simulated tackling him. And maybe they just like slowly just like tumbled to the ground like jokingly. I think that to me is what it sounds like happened. And by the way, they did a walkthrough. Like was it a hip drop tackle? No, it was not a hip drop tackle. I heard Sefter make that joke five times. He also said it was pregame. It was during a walkthrough before, not at the stadium. They weren't even padded up. It was a walkthrough, I believe at their either facility or hotel. I don't know where. They probably did it at the facility. They're right there. But a facility maybe in the morning, early afternoon, something like that. And it's a cute little story. I don't think it really did anything. But here's that we didn't talk about this. Let me talk about it for a second. The whole Nabers situation, because it really did come down to the last minute. Nabers was very strong about how he wanted to make the final decision and the Giants kind of, you know, gave way to him for that, right? They said, sure, you know, it is your career. You will, you know, we're going to let him make the decision. So they're sitting there basically crossing their fingers, hoping that he makes the right decision, being like, you know what, we're not, we don't want to push him too hard because he's very emotional guy. You know, he says all the time, he basically was in a, he lost his soul, his back when he was a footballer, he was in a dark place. He may, he says all these things like that. He's very emotional. So you don't want to push him too hard because then it makes him think, you know what, I'm not the one making the decision. They're pushing me to make the decision. So they have to sit back and even Dars said, I didn't want to kind of say anything. Harbaugh's trying not to push him. They've all wanted to play. They're like, hey, we think he's going to play. We've got to let him get to that decision by himself. So they're doing all these little things, but not trying to push too hard. And eventually he made that. So of course, at the end of the day, that atmosphere, that stadium, he wants to play football, he's clear. He's likely going to play. And you know that. This is what happens when you have a wide receiver one. These are the types of things you just got to deal with. We do our pregame live streams on Sunday morning. And I was like, listen, I don't want to get pre-match, because he's playing. There's no way he's physically cleared, he's fully practicing, everyone's and he's just going to go, this is Malik Nabers, like you said, having autonomy over his life and giving himself that ability to feel it out right before the game and just have that chance of saying yes or no. But we all know he's playing, because if he didn't play it, I would have been pissed, like I wouldn't have done this, like, oh, you know, I've been a lot of like, oh, you know what it's like to come back, it's like, no, dude's physically clear. This isn't a case of like the Giants rushing him along. It's been 350 days. That's much more time that's needed on these timelines. The plan to ramp him up went perfectly this off season. There was not a single bump in the road with that. It's like we all knew he was going to play, but the Giants also, like you said, you just saw they cut Daly Cambry today. So they activate, they didn't activate him just to give him a nice little pay bump for a week. They activated him for that, or that just- Contingency, that was contingency, 100%. But it, cause again, like you said, they don't know exactly what Malik Nabers was going to say, but I think we all knew he was going to play and he played and he looked good. You know, didn't look at 100%, but he'd look like, he looked good for first game back from the torn ACL. He stumbled a couple of times. That was one thing I did notice. So you could tell he's still a little bit trying to, you know, get that confidence in his leg. But at the same time, he did show some explosion in that second hand. And he's a, he demands respect when he's on the field, no matter what. And the defense has to respect when he's on the field and they have to basically have their safeties have an eye on him at all time, right? And so just by being there does serve a big purpose and helps everybody else out on that field. Well, and he, I'm looking at it right now. He had 24 routes run, six catches, 69 yards. So he had every four passing plays out there. He had to catch for over, you know, 11 yards per catch. Like he was, he was fine. So 11 of his reps were running plays. So for the most part, he was on the field for passing plays. And so really only nine, because two of those were actually kneel downs at the end. Yes. I'm saying like, I'm looking at it right now. There's, he ran 24 routes, six catches, 69 yards. So he had a very nice performance. So he looked good. He's coming back. I think gave him nine, nine target. They're going to feed the dude. When he's on the field, they're going to feed him. Yeah, he's going to be something to keep an eye on, man. He is, he is a unique character. Like he beats to his own drum and you don't know, ever know what he's going to do. That's why I wouldn't rule out. I didn't rule out. I thought he was playing and I was leaning towards him playing the whole time. But nothing is for sure when you're talking about this guy, Bobby. Even when you watch him at practice, you never know when he's going to sit there and play with his cleats and his insoles or go to the back of the line and come out late to practice and then come out. You really never know what he's going to do. I can't read his body language. It's a total wild card to me. This is life of having a wide receiver, one of the NFL. It's on the Giants to start winning to keep him happy. You see a smile after the game. Keep winning and we're going to have a happy Malik Nabers and he's going to be great for our quarterback. You know what he does have? We saw O'Dell, but I know people love Eli. Did you see O'Dell's highlight reel that people were posting? But the reality of the O'Dell situation is Eli was old at that point. He was getting old. They knew he was done and they kept rolling it back and rolling it back and rolling it back. It reached the point where the frustration level, and it wasn't just O'Dell, the receivers in general, it reached the point where it was going to bubble over. What Nabers has, the advantage that Nabers has here, he's coming up with a young quarterback. He has that guy. If he likes him and he has that strong relationship with him, I don't think it's there yet because honestly, they didn't really play together yet. We'll see what happens. It's good so far, and they're friendly actually off the field, but it's a little different when you're on the field. It was tough for O'Dell having to have a two-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback who had him for $1,600 season, so life's not easy for all of us. You say that, and I know we love Eli, but he was wilting Eli. I admit it, he was done for. I'm having fun. He was done in 18. Let's talk about this because I think this is like, hey, moving forward. I know they signed a running back to the practice squad, but I don't think that's, anytime, I don't really think that has anything to do with anything. What happens with Tyrone Tracy going forward? Because that's really bad, man. Like you mentioned, Singletary 1 running back 2 over him, Scadaboo is the clear running back 1. Najee Harris wasn't brought here for no reason. To have the preseason he had and to give him grace, but our speed and stuff, and to do that on your 2nd carry, at some point, you just stop getting those chances. This is not a foreign issue to Tyrone Tracy. He did have 5 fumbles as a rookie. He only had 1 last year. What do you think happens with him going forward? I have to see this week if how Harbaugh decides to handle it. And if he thinks he played well on special teams, that's enough to keep him active. But it's very easy to see him inactive at this point. After this, because can you really trust him? What John Harbaugh has shown is a meritocracy, right? He cut Darius Slayton, Paul Sinodibo for $21 million, Bobby, is a gunner. He's a gunner. Paul Sinodibo is playing as a gunner on the pun team. So you're saying his life does have intrinsic value? It's actually $18 million, I think, right? I don't know why I said $21 million. I guess that was the cash part of it. That's the cap it. But John Harbaugh is not going to be afraid to. Tyrone Tracy hasn't earned the carries and the trust as a running back. No, I'm saying he's likely inactive. I don't think they're going to cut him. I think he's likely going to be inactive as long as they think they can replace him on special teams this week. Well, that's my question because I'd be surprised if he's not a healthy scratch to be honest this week. It's just like, are we at a point of like, goodbye, or it's like, we're going to put you on the NACA for a few weeks and then we'll revisit as we go. Young player, I think you would want to work with him. It would seem silly to just cut bait right now. But these are the kind of things we don't know. We don't know how John Harbaugh is going to react, right? We don't know how he handles these situations. I think he puts his arm around Tyrone Tracy and he tries to solve the situation now, fix the fumble problem, rebuild his confidence and move forward. But we will have to wait and see. I don't know who talked about it, but they mentioned like the vibe of the locker room not having like that. One, the Super Bowl dancing around, Harbaugh talked about like having some respect and stuff, and to open up the press conference. How was the locker room? How were the players afterwards? It's good to kind of ask you about that. Yeah, I think those things are overrated personally. I saw somebody, I forget who it was, it was Kyle Brand. Look at the way, they're united. Look at the way they defend Jaxson Dart on the sideline. Well, guess what, Bobby? When Jaxson Dart got hit on the sideline, in a clean hit, in bounds, last year against the New England Patriots, they also had the same thing, right? No, I'm talking about post-game. No, no, I'm saying, I'm saying, so like I don't make too much of like how they handle themselves. I do think John Harbaugh brings a different level of professionalism, where he doesn't want them to show that we're too cocky. Don't sit there and if you won't, I don't think it'll be interesting to note to see. I don't think John Harbaugh like guys posting pictures of them do or videos of them doing one good thing in a 30-point loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Can you imagine John Harbaugh going in after you're down 31, nothing off your bye week to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, having a meeting the next day when you played in three days on Thanksgiving and only showing positive clips and telling me, see guys, we did a lot of positive things. You see John Harbaugh doing that. There's a different level of professionalism and I think you're going to see that. The locker room was pretty excited. You saw Harbaugh even dancing a little bit after when he got handed the game ball right by John Marra. Like I still think it was a pretty happy locker room. You know, Jermaine Illuminore basically said we kicked their ass. We dominated them up front. Harbaugh said we dominated them up front. It was it's fairly similar to what it has been in the past. Now, if they're the problem beforehand was when they were two and ten and they actually won a game, they acted like, you know, they had done something. This is their one and oh, they should be happy and acting like they won a game and they did something, you know, accomplish something here. It's a little different when your season's already over and you're basically just playing for pride. So I don't make too much of it at this point. I what I do make of it is when I asked Jaxson Dart what it meant to win, you know, for John Harbaugh to win his first game there, he basically said we'll follow John Harbaugh to hell. Like anything he says, we believe right now. And like that's because he has that cache, that's because he has that resume. A nice segue where I yell my famous phrase. On to the next one. Yeah, I'm actually out of questions. I was going to ask how do they come out health wise and you just say fine. Duggan's got to rephrase that question. Did you have any injuries coming out of the game? First of all, it would have been very easy should have just asked specifically about Malik Nabers. How's Malik feeling today? Yeah, I'm surprised none of you guys asked that. That's what conference calls make it tough because you want to, I was first up and I double-barreled and I wanted to get into the tackle and hear what Harbaugh had to say about it. I figured someone else will get to the injuries and I don't get another opportunity. But anyway, we were talking about the way they handle themselves. I thought this was kind of ridiculous too. Pickens basically just dropped the ball and Greg Newsome's fagging his finger like, don't throw on me. That's just, the corners have to do that though. You can't not do that. Corners are crazy with that stuff. They are funny, I will say that. So let's get into some chats. I know everybody wants to ask about the Holland and Joey Porter thing. Let me pull some of those up so we can take advantage of that. That's clearly like the number one thing that I saw there on that thing. We didn't get any super chats on that, did we? I don't want to ignore someone's... Okay, here we go. Why don't you do super chats first? Well, no, I wanted to look for one on because I knew we had one on Javon Holland. What's up with the seemingly unnecessary Holland restructure move? And coming also, Niggie needs to get plays as soon as they got away with three DLAA games last night. So what is Javon Holland had $5 million of his contract converted into a signing bonus, which didn't seem necessary? Joey Porter Jr. is out there. We know the quarterback issue. John Harbaugh has a lot of experience going up against John Harbaugh or Joey Porter Jr. What do you make of that? Right from right now, from what I heard, it just gives them a little extra flexibility that it's not any like impending move like that's about to be done at this point. Now, maybe it turns into one later on, but I do think it gives them more flexibility to sign a veteran and add another veteran. It's probably still not going to be a big, a big name, big trade type of guy. But, you know, you can always dream. I think I asked you this before, but what's the answer? Joey Porter Jr., does he fit what they do schematically? I do believe so. The question is, this is where when people ask me about this, I'm kind of non-committal. I like Joey Porter Jr. coming out of college. I know he's been a good player. I don't know if he's like the trade a draft pick and pay for him type of player. Because then you're slotting him in as a true number one. Yeah. I don't know if he's that. I think he's definitely fit exactly what Mike Tomlin did with that cover three defense. I know he's gotten a decent amount of penalties and stuff. He was never going to be that shut down, shut down guy. Like Joey Porter Jr., I know well enough to know he'd be the best corner on this team by far, but I don't know if he's the guy that you're trading. Is that a high bar though? No, that's what I'm saying is I don't, I can't tell you how good Joey Porter Jr. is. I'm pretty sure he's not a number one corner, or not like a pay a big contract and trade for him number one corner. Probably a low end corner one, high end corner two guy. Again, I'm not here pretending I watch Joey Porter Jr. film every week either. You want to stick on the corners here real quick? Yeah. Andrew says, do you offer Banks a new contract if he plays well this year? If he plays well, but I think all the corners played bad. None of them had disaster. Phillips had the penalties, but none of them had the disaster moment. What did you think of the penalties? Curious what you think. They were ticky tack, but every single one could have been. The one in the end zone I thought was. Yeah, the one, but that was the least consequential one, right? Yeah, it didn't even matter. The other ones I thought you can't hold the guy's arm and get caught. Here's the larger issue. It's like Greg Newsom. It's like, you bail out for an under throw. They're getting beat and they're playing from behind. If a throw is not good, they end up making contact. That's the issue with our corners is the fact that they get beat. They don't have great ball skills, and so they're trying to get back into the play and they attack the body because they don't know how to turn their head and box out. It's still an issue with their corners of getting beat. It was a good wide receiver duo, so I don't want to overreact too much to them being negative. But the reality is, I don't have faith in a single corner on this roster. But I don't know if you remember, it was an open practice, but there was a day of practice where Colton Hood had a play like that, and he got flagged. He was celebrating, and the ref threw a flag, and him and the whole defense were arguing kind of with the official there. And John Harbaugh basically started yelling at Hood and yelling at the defense. And he's like, I don't know what you guys are talking about. I don't want to hear you arguing. Play right. Don't commit the foul. You ran into the guy. They're going to call it. That's a penalty. So if I had to guess, I want to, I don't think anyone asked him that today. I'm curious what he thinks of the way Drew Phillips was playing because he's just so handsy. That's kind of the way he plays there. And he's always been that way too. That's what I mean, but that's why I think that kind of thing, if he got that mad at Colton Hood, I don't think he's going to be happy with the way that Drew Phillips is putting himself in the position where he could easily be flagged, which he was. Brian Dable would excuse it off to guys, right? I think John Harbaugh will be like, you're putting yourself in that situation where you could get flagged. And to the point where I'm curious to see how much patience he has with Drew Phillips moving forward. And the thing with Banks is, the Banks question real quick, let me get to that and then you jump in, Bobby. Part of his problem was off the field, the way he worked, the way he handled himself. So I don't think you want to get into signing him at any point early this year until you see what happens when he hits some, hits a rough pasture, things go bad for a couple of games and see how he handles himself there before I'm willing to invest. He also had a couple of weak tackle attempts last night, which is like, dude, are you ever going to get physical in the run game? Because he tackles so high, Bobby. He's not physical. He plays so. Harbaugh actually did get asked about it today. He said, and then as far as your corners, what did you think about their play? And I don't know if you agreed with all the PI calls, but what is maybe the coaching point to Drew in particular? Well, just play by play. I mean, probably a couple of them were definitely justifiable and good calls. One or maybe two of them were a little bit more very gray. So you just look at each one and you try to make the coaching points you could play. I mean, you can't grab a guy. You can't restrict a player from making the catch. Just like an offensive player should be able to create separation by extending his arms and push off by referencing the CD player. Reference to the CD. So you just try to coach. You're just not going to get that call very often. No, it's unfortunate. It's just the reality though. Complaining about offensive pass interference is a waste of time. Also, I think that push off looked way worse than what it was. But anyways, he did get asked about it. But that's the surprising thing. Or Darius Washington, I think he had one snap on defense. I'm surprised that he did not get any run in this game, whether as a third safety or going in for Drew Phillips. Or is it just the same thing? I am as well. I thought he was going to have a roll. We'll see if he does moving forward. Also, Paulson Debo came in and immediately gave him a 15-yard catch. And that was when Banks went out. That was when Banks went out, right? I can't remember which one. Whatever, whatever the order was. And then when Newsome went out, then they were like, no, no, no, we're going to go to Colton Hood there. So that was very notable right there that they basically were like, they're like, OK, enough with the Debo. Like, he just, it does not look good for him. He just does not look completely engaged. I don't know if it's just the look of it or what, but he's an $18 million gunner right now. And they don't really want to put him on the field as a cornerback. Now he can't really cut him because cornerback, it's really hard to find players in the NFL. Like who are you going to fill that spot with right now? Yeah. And Hood had a good play on Pickens, but he also gave up a third down catch to Ryan Flournoy, whatever. He'll have good and bad if he plays. There's very up and down nature to his game at this point. Yeah. And again, Hood, the expectation should not be on Hood to be the savior of this corner room as a rookie. The issue, they're going to have a bad corner room this year. That's just is what it is. I thought it was the best in the league. But don't get on players for having confidence. It might have made a difference in this game. Pickens was definitely overlooking them. Right now, I post the numbers every week of basic rankings in the EPA. Because of the way they played on offense, defensively, right now they're 9th in scoring, 9th in passing yards, 4th in rushing yards. They're 26 in EPA per play. You know what I mean? That's where you worry about what happens if we don't control the game. Well, that's like everybody's like they had the best rushing, number one rushing attack last year. That's just because they ran the ball a lot. Their efficiency in rushing was like middle of the pack. Yeah, we're in a great running team last year. They were pedestrian. The good is worth the bad with Drew. Feels like he gets a big tackle for a loss. I disagree. You can't you got your corner. You're close, but we could put a line back on the field if we need. He's there to cover. Yeah, I agree. Like it's not worth it because the tackle for a loss. OK, that's a good play. It's like a one or two yard loss. But the plays down field are like 15, 20, 30, 50 yard gains. Like you're giving up. I can't can't can't be giving those up for free. Yeah. Mason says loudest game I've been to. Thoughts on the Lambs push off. We talked about that. It was loud. It was noticeable on TV, especially that first three and out. I thought the atmosphere there was great. I like I said, I get there super early and I since I took over in 2013, I can't remember a game where there was traffic like that four hours before a game. I get it. It's a night game. It's the Cowboys. It's the perfect storm of hey, let's get out there. It makes a big deal back. Nice weather, September, like a beautiful day after the rain came. It did rain in the morning. You know that? Yeah. Well, our weatherman said that. I think people had an emphasis and had the 9-11 remora. I think there was an emphasis of getting in to watch warmups. That's true. The stadium was, look at that stutter right there. The stadium was completely filled at like 8-8-10, which is basically unheard of. Usually, it takes like 10 minutes into the game for the stadium to get fully filled. Yeah. That's not even a Giants issue. That's just like an NFL football game. Yeah. That's at every stadium. It's just the way people are having fun in the parking lot. They start working their way in. They're in like five, 10 minutes after the game starts. When we used to do those big talk in Giants tailgates, where we have a lot of people and we're basically like entertaining, you'd get to like 12, 15 years like, oh shit, I have to go to a football game. Like you almost forget as crazy as those things get. There's some jokes happening with Drake, Robert Skinner soon. We haven't forgotten. Everyone, please spam the chat with his name was Robert Skinner. I will be this fan base is Tyler Durden. So I guess it's a Fight Club joke, but I definitely a Fight Club reference. Yeah. Now I'm putting it together with the Paulson Adibos. Does his life have any intrinsic value? Okay. Yeah. We do appreciate everybody who's come. Yeah. Drake is definitely people haven't jumped on yet, but Drake is definitely trying to get the people of movement going. Any updates on the corner injuries? I mean, both those guys went back in the game, so they were fine. Banks was just cramps anyway. Wasn't drinking enough body armor. Ghost Dog, give me one good reason why we shouldn't poach Levi. Oh, this is going to be a tough one. Levi Umwuzarike. Yeah. Off the lines practice squad while they can play cap genesis with him. Yeah, basically every defensive tackle that gets waved, who's like on an NFL roster, I'm like Giants go get it. But when you're on a practice squad and I'm pretty sure. Um, let me just check. I'm pretty sure he's a vested vet. So basically it's his option. You know what? I don't know if he's a vested vet. So everybody missed the year. I don't know. Yeah. So there are sometimes ways that teams could keep them there. And then if somebody tries to poach them, you'll just eventually just keep them and you'll make a roster spot for him. So it's not a guarantee they could just go get the guy. Let's see. What do we got? Thoughts on the Giants pass rush last night. I thought Carter looks solid. Chauncey Wilson looks solid. Burns definitely got a lot of double team attention. Kayvon had some moments. It wasn't as dominant as I was hoping, but Abdul Carter looked good. Yeah, it was okay. Abdul Carter was the only one who really stood up. Brian Burns had a quiet game. Chauncey Wilson was good. They dropped Brian Burns in coverage a lot too. Yeah, for him wasn't as big a factor as he usually is. I think our ESPN stats had five or six pressures for Carter, three for Goldston, one apiece for Burns and Kayvon. Okay. Also, we didn't even give Kayvon, I was noticing a pressure for the DAC interception. Yeah, just doesn't count. Different ways to chart it. There's different things. Yeah, just because he kind of just rolled out so they don't just, I guess that doesn't count as like him winning him getting a pressure. Yeah, there's different things, but we all saw the eye test last night and we don't need all those. I actually would like to make the point on this. Watch in Cowboys feed today and say, can't can't effing scab who you got a lot. So this is the thing I felt, I remember we hung out a lot as Giants people and beat reporters and stuff in West Virginia. We just we had we talked a lot of Giants football. I think the thing I disagreed with the beat the most on is like this Cam Scadaboo, like because he's not a top 10 bag or where you put on the running back rankings. You see the motor that he is for this Giants office, like they can upgrade eventually and get this try and get a star running back. But like I think his, his impact on the Giants through seven full games now, I think is undeniable. I mean, you saw the stat about the touchdown since that guy from World War II, you know, forget what his name was. But like you did, his impact is very noticeable without having big exposure. I'm not in that crowd though that needs a star running back, by the way. I'm fine with camp staff. But what I'm saying is people change this count as his impact because he's not, he's not, you know, very small. Does it mean he's a top 10 running back? No, but I mean, I'm perfectly fine. I think he's a good quality running back and I want that guy on my team. And I thought we have to remember, he's coming off a serious injury too. He looked really good for a guy coming off a serious injury. Again, he is what he is. Getting low. Yeah. And he has more juice than everybody gives him credit for. He makes guys miss. Again, he just doesn't have the big explosive. Not long range, you know, break long run kind of guy. But Mark, we did a whole, I said, what are we going to do about Drew Phillips? He's or we did a whole segment on that. We don't know what they're going to do with him. Yeah, that'll be something to watch. I think Ardarius Washington works his way into the mix. I do. I mean, because the thing is with Drew Phillips, we've seen it out for how many years. He kind of is what he is at this point, right? Like the coverage is a problem. It's he's not a great cover guy. Like you can't, if you have him against really good receivers, the other team is just going to target that guy nonstop. Biggest personnel surprise for me in this game was the fact that Ardarius Washington essentially didn't play any defense. That was that was very surprising to me. I feel like I'm good. Game, I didn't notice that Fields played as many snaps as he did. Again, they ran the ball a ton with him out there. You know, yeah, that catch he had with that was out of bounds. That was a great catch. That was insane, dude. And it's just like you just got to move on because he doesn't catch it. That was unbelievable. I wish Dart didn't put so much gas on that other depot because he's shown, like, he can make that play. So it was a lot of fun. So beyond flabbergasted, Bobby went to podcasts and barely mentioned CC. Check out the O-line report tomorrow. We're starting off with a segment on CC Marinoa. So a full film breakdown. Because I think he played well. Give me a preview. He played well, looks like he belongs, some really good reps, also a few times where it's like, hey, he got a defense alignment in his chest and drove back. The fact that he had zero pressures doesn't mean he had zero bad pass blocking reps. There was some bad ones. They just, the ball was out and stuff. But in the run game, at worst would sustain blocks. He belongs, I'm happy with him. I think we've got a guy. Again, this was a tough defensive tackle match, but Quinn and Williams and Kenny Clark, you're not going to get that on a weekend, week out basis. Very happy with Francis Maui Noah's debut. I'm excited about him and there's a reason why I advocated for the Giants draft. Cici Mananoa. I had somebody who knows offensive line, who I was talking to and Tommy watched all the reps and he said that Maui Noah is going to be a star. Yeah, I'm excited for it. He was really excited. Didn't think it was perfect either, but said going forward, the dude is going to be a star. I mean, their tackle situation is good too. When you have Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Illuminoid and Jermaine Illuminoid is like your second guy, and you're playing a team like the Cowboys, which is, to be quite frank, they're not very good on the edge. They're really just not that good at the edge rusher position. That's just going to be a game where you're not going to get, the other team's not going to get pressure from the edge on you. And just such an easy way. It makes it so much easier to operate offensively that way. Yeah, it's a beautiful thing. I hope the Giants keep reinvesting in it. Like, Runyon played bad and that's the question of like, will they, like, if Runyon has a bad season, that's the whole thing. Are you going to, are you willing to go out and sign a starter over him after that? But again, having him as, you know, him and JMS as your fourth and fifth starters isn't. Yeah, then I think the likelihood is they're going to address probably one of the two spots unless everybody plays really well. You know, plays great. So, you know, you can't, you'll have to pick and choose. You can't just pay it for every single spot. So, yeah, but I'm excited about CC Malanoa. The Giants team is starting to get a little filled up with best players that Bobby advocated for in the draft. Andrew Thomas, Abdul Carter, Francis Malanoa. They're getting my guys. I'm doing film cut-ups. One of every week I'm excited for. You had to like Nabers too, right? I mean, oh yeah, I was big on Nabers. I thank God I didn't bow the knee to the quarterbacker or bus group that wanted us to draft JJ McCarthy of like, well, we just got to take a swing. Even though that actually did work out taking the swing on Jaxson Dart, who I wasn't advocating for. So one last one, I'm wrong. I win one last one. What did you think of RRL. I haven't done the defensive guys like a deep like individual film on them. Pretty sure the touchdown was on him. Yeah, I believe it was. That's a mental thing. Those are the kind of things where I think you could probably get him. I wanted him to lay a guy out and he just kind of like wrapped him up and, you know, brought him down and Carter came and helped him on that other one. I thought his physicality helped in the run game now. But that's the thing is his contributions aren't going to be like these huge splash plays playing in that spot a lot of times. But eventually they will. And again, I haven't done it. Yeah, they will. They will. I'll have some analysis of Arbel Reese's first game yet. I very much have. It's hard to have too many. Like he's not Fred Warner right now. You know, like, yeah, by the Fred Warner, by the way, was so good in that game. You forget how nasty it is. I mean, he's just, he's just at such a different level than everyone else. Like you forget, like, oh my God, that team, like, everyone's like, oh, they, you know, how did they do it? And you're like, well, you remember, like, well, that team is when they're healthy, it's super stacked. We did our spread really high level guys. We did our spread picks on Thursday. I'm like, oh, the 49ers are banged up. And then they started reading the starting lineup. I was like, wait a second, all their best players are ready to go. Where's all these injuries that I heard about all training camp? So that's the thing, when you have Trent Williams, George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, and Nick Bosa, we can make an argument those are guys that are like the best, the single best player at their position in the entire league. Yeah, they literally, Christian McCaffrey is not the best at running back anymore, but he's been at that. Fred Warner best at his position. Nick Bosa, he's not the best, but it's only because you have a guy like Miles Garrett. George Kittle, you can argue he's the best. Trent Williams, I think he's the best. These are all top 10 guys at their positions still today. Mike Evans, still really good. Purdy, you know, good. Kyle Shanahan, one of the best coaches in the NFL. I was just, they went to the starting lineup. I was like, wait a second, I thought they were, I thought everyone was injured on this team from the electrical substation. Before we go, here you go, since this is a super chat, I think you should address this and then we'll get out of here. Can you, will you include Ricard in the O-line report since he's basically a full-time blocker? Not this week because I want to get a little basis of everybody on the O-line, but there will be that. You should, Bobby, that is a good point. He will, he will get his. He should be, he is part of their offensive line. He will, not this week. We can't do everything in week one. And, hey, let's get some more explosive runs that record pops, and then that's when those really pop off. Kudos should go also to the tight ends and the full back. Again, everyone is saying record, but the tight ends also did a pretty good job on the blocking front. That is Theo Johnson's role now. That is what he does, and he was actually pretty good yesterday in that role. So, kudos to Theo Johnson to everybody on that front played really well. Great game. Let's wrap this up here. We're at an hour 10. Great podcast. Great first Sunday. You know what? To be excited, Bobby, we got relevance this year. Do you know what that means? It's good for business. I've been joking with people. If they beat the Rams, I might move to New Jersey. So, you know, we're rooting for a Rams victory. Where are you going to move? Do you got a room? Hotel? Motel? Do you have a room? I mean, I have a room. I don't know if my wife will tell you. Listen, I'll pay rent. You know, about 300 bucks a month work. We built a basement with a bedroom. The only thing is the bed, it's now a gym. I might honestly, I'll probably get like 50 people that reach out, hey, you could stay with me if you want. Look, we already got it. You can use my RV in the chat. So yeah, that's the thing. An RV in the driveway, maybe? Or do you live in a hotel? Or are we now just making so much money that you're just going to buy a penthouse? Yeah, definitely. A van down by the river. I was showing my friend, I hung out with some of my friends for the first time since being back, and I showed them the NBC thing. Like, hey, look, I was in a van down by the river in the Saturday Night Live studio. All right, let's wrap this up. Yeah, wrap it up. Great episode. He's Bobby Skinner. I'm Jordan Raanan. This is Breaking Big Blue times Giants Nation Show. Hey, remember, tell everybody the best podcast out there. It's this. It's this combination, Giants Nation Show, Breaking Big Blue.
