Updated Sep 8, 2026 · Week 1 board.
Five Week 1 games have moved 0.5 points or more since they opened. Six numbers in all, because Green Bay at Minnesota moved twice, once in each market. Ten books price every game on this board, and the wire names one outlier book per game, not one per number.
The five games that moved half a point or more
| Game | Kickoff | Market | Open | Now | Move | Books | Outlier book |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jets at Titans | Sun 1:00 p.m. ET | Spread | Titans -2.5 | Titans -1.5 | +1 | 10 | Bovada |
| Packers at Vikings | Sun 4:25 p.m. ET | Spread | Vikings -1.5 | Vikings -1 | +0.5 | 10 | BetMGM |
| Packers at Vikings | Sun 4:25 p.m. ET | Total | 45.5 | 46 | +0.5 | 10 | BetMGM |
| Buccaneers at Bengals | Sun 1:00 p.m. ET | Spread | Bengals -3.5 | Bengals -4 | -0.5 | 10 | Bovada |
| 49ers at Rams | Thu 8:35 p.m. ET | Total | 48.5 | 48 | -0.5 | 10 | Pinnacle |
| Bills at Texans | Sun 1:00 p.m. ET | Spread | Texans +0.5 | Texans +1 | +0.5 | 10 | Bovada |
Seven further numbers shifted 0.3 or less. Six games still show both opening prices untouched, which is the ordinary result for an early-September board.

Tennessee gave back a full point
A full point has come off Tennessee at home: 2.5 at the open, 1.5 today. No other number on the slate travelled half that far. Bovada holds the outlier price. Moneylines read Tennessee -119, Jets +106.

The total on the same game is 39.3, the lowest number of the week. Nothing else on the board is priced under 40.5.
Minnesota shortened while its total rose
Minnesota shortened from 1.5 to 1. Its total climbed the other direction, 45.5 to 46. Two moves of exactly 0.5 on a single game, with BetMGM holding the outlier price. Minnesota -124, Green Bay +111.
A spread that shortens while its total lengthens describes money arriving on the underdog without anyone marking the game down for scoring. The wire logs both moves at the same size on the same game. It logs no reason for either.
Cincinnati went from 3.5 to 4
Cincinnati went 3.5 to 4, a half point toward the favorite. That size is unremarkable. Its placement is what matters. The two margins singled out by the wire's key-number angle are 3 and 7, and this price has stepped away from 3.
Buy Tampa Bay at 4 and a four-point defeat returns the stake. Buy it at the opening 3.5 and that identical result is a loser. Cincinnati is -205, Tampa Bay +178, and the 50.5 total here matches the Detroit game for the highest of the week.
The Thursday total is the only one that fell half a point
Los Angeles hosts San Francisco on Thursday at 8:35 p.m. ET. The total opened 48.5 and stands at 48, Pinnacle the outlier. That spread has not moved once: the Rams have laid 3.5 since the price was first captured on Aug 26.
Where the record agrees and where it does not
The wire attaches graded angles to each game. Every angle carries a side, a count of graded games and a hit rate. An angle is a standing pattern with a record behind it, not a cause of the move. The only question it answers is whether it points the same way the money went.
| Game | Move went toward | Best-graded angle backs | Graded games | Hit rate | Same direction |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jets at Titans | Jets | Jets | 798 | 52% | Yes |
| Packers at Vikings | Green Bay | Green Bay | 687 | 53% | Yes |
| 49ers at Rams | Under | Under | 419 | 56% | Yes |
| Buccaneers at Bengals | Cincinnati | Tampa Bay | 798 | 52% | No |
| Bills at Texans | Buffalo | Houston | 8 | 50% | No |
Three of the five moved alongside a graded angle. Two moved against one. The Bills at Texans line carries the weakest evidence on the board: eight graded results cannot support a conclusion in either direction, and the market has moved away from that angle regardless.
What the wire cannot explain
No recorded cause sits behind any of these six moves. The injury coverage holds 11 entries for the 2026 season, and only two clubs have filed a report so far, both of them from the Week 1 opener. Nothing in that coverage changed inside the three-day window these moves happened in.
The prop market cannot corroborate them either. A single book is publishing NFL props in this window, so no cross-book prop consensus exists to set against a spread. On the talk side, only the podcast tier is still arriving: the news feed stopped on Aug 26 and the video tier on Aug 27.
That leaves an honest description of the week. Six numbers moved, three of them alongside a graded pattern, none of them with a recorded reason. A move with no known cause is still priced, and it is still the price everyone else has to beat.

What the Number Says
Green Bay +1 is the cleanest number on this board. The spread moved toward Green Bay and a 687-game record backs Green Bay. The moneyline on the same side pays +111.

The second number worth recording is Tampa Bay +4, on placement rather than direction. That move handed the underdog the far side of 4, and both angles graded on the game, at 722 and 798, back Tampa Bay.
Leave the Bills at Texans number alone. Houston is +1 and +102, the move went the other way, and the one graded angle on that game has 8 results behind it.
Each of the six figures above is a median of ten quotes, so any individual window will differ. These spreads were first captured between May 30 and Aug 26. A median summarises the market; it is not an offer. Compare it against your own book before kickoff.
Questions from the desk
Which Week 1 number has moved the most?
The Titans spread. A full point has come off it, 2.5 down to 1.5, and no other number on the slate travelled half that far. Bovada holds the outlier price among the 10 books quoting the game.
How many books moved on each number?
That count is absent from the wire. What it carries is a 10-book quote count per game plus the identity of the single furthest outlier, logged once per game rather than once per market, which is why BetMGM stands against both Minnesota figures.
Did injury news drive any of these moves?
No injury entry changed during the three-day window. The 2026 coverage runs to 11 entries from just two clubs, both of them Week 1 opener sides, and it cannot account for six moves across five games.
Why does the Bills at Texans angle get no weight?
Its record stands at 8 graded results and a 50% strike rate. Against 798 behind the Jets angle or 687 behind the Packers angle, that is noise, and the market moved the opposite way in any case.
